The Titans are working with Patrick Bailey, Time Shaw and Jason Jones to keep all three in two-toned blue with multi-year deals. I'm interested to see what kind of deal we end up getting worked out with Jones, because they've been at the table for a good while now.
Jim Wyatt says the divide between Cortland Finnegan's expectations and what the Titans are willing to pay is still very substantial. The Titans are scheduled to meet with Finny's agent at the scouting combine, but I don't expect tremendous progress to be made any time soon.
The Titans are prohibited from signing Jordan Babineaux before March 13th thanks to an obscure rule related to the veteran minimum that the team used to cut some costs last season, but they're working with his agent to get a multi-year deal worked out.
And here's what Big Play Babs wants from the Titans:
ESPN's Josina Anderson talked to Babineaux on Monday. She passed this exchange on.
"I wouldn't want to necessarily leave if Tennessee makes me feel at home," Babineaux said.
When asked how the Titans would make him feel at home, Babineaux replied, "Cha-ching."
Stanford Routt signed with the Chiefs, but that could lead to Brandon Carr walking in free agency, so there's still another good CB option on the market thanks to the Raiders' curious cut.
Paul K lists the Texans' free agents, and they've got some pretty substantial ones. It'll be interesting to see how many of these guys they can keep in Houston, and how many walk.
MTD takes a look at our weakest spots.

We bring him in and show that we want and appreciate him here , where in seattle he was pretty much just a reserve and or bench guy, and now he’s saying he will stay for cha-ching, and most likely has an over inflated value of himself.

the NFL is not about being “appreciated”, this is their career. we can jaw all we want about how these players are all so greedy and just motivated by money, but why do you go to work everyday? I’m sure there are some of you out there who go because you love it and you’re awesome, but at the end of the day it’s about collecting a paycheck to pay the bills.
the guy wants to be paid for his services, when your career is about 8 years long you’d probably try to take this opportunity to cash in too.

The Texans are going to have to spend a lot of money to keep their free agents
Plus they have to lock down Arian Foster to a long-term deal and you’ll know he’ll want similar money as CJ and AP got last year.
I think adding Mike Brisiel from the Texans would be a good move…I wonder how much Bruce Matthews short stint over there may influence that decision.
I have a question; do the Texans HAVE to sign Arian Foster? I felt like Ben Tate stepped in there and did a pretty darn good job
I mean obviously Foster is the better back, but do you think how well Tate did with his playing time puts Foster’s negotiating for CJ/AP money in trouble?

Per Football Outsiders, Tate actually performed better than Foster. Just watching the dude run, I thought the same thing at times. Though, he runs so aggressively, it feels like it’s only a matter of time before he suffers an injury.
They both were pretty good

they’ve got the look of those old Shannahan Broncos teams (that Kubiak OC’d) that can just plug in a one cut and go runner and get 1,400 yards easily.

Good news as Lions DE Cliff Avril said today about his contract: “There’s a lot of different possibilities, and that’s one of the possibilities — not showing up,” Avril told the Detroit Free Press. “That’s not the plan, obviously. One of the best parts of MCM is that the comments section is just as entertaining and intellegent as the actual articles. Comments like the above just water down the quality and turn it into just another run of the mill titan fansite. And its annoying too.

I'm not saying let's turn into Stampede Blue and ban everyone for any slight disagreement.
I enjoy the arguments and debates that happen around here and love a good duslin/troll sighting every now and then. But when stuff like this just gets spouted off it’s annoying and is borderline trolling. If there were something to back it up, even if it was more opinion, I’d at least be able to say “I disagree with that and think it’s completely unfounded.” As it is, expressing it like this as a factual statement with no support (and multiple times at that if we jump to Prattrick’s Fanpost, and that’s really where my above statement is coming from moreso than this one comment) is what I disagree with.
