2012 NFL Draft and the Tennessee Titans Links 2/21

Here are some interesting draft stories from around the internet today:

Doug Farrar of Yahoo! Shutdown Corner has started his Shutdown 50. These are must read profiles for his top 50 players in the draft. Yesterday was Jonathan Massaquoi, DE/OLB from Troy.

Today he highlighted Trevor's boy Rueben Randle, WR, LSU. I really like Randle as a second round pick, but there is a good chance he will be off the board at #52.

Matt Bowen of National Football Post talks about how stressful the combine will be for Janoris Jenkins. He will be one of a handful of players that really needs to impress in the interviews because of his character issues. Bowen says that a good all-around performance in Indy could move Jenkins past Dre Kirkpatrick as the second best corner in this draft.

Wes Bunting of NFP put out his 16-30 rankings of the prospects in the draft heading to Indy. That list includes a lot of guys the Titans could target including Melvin Ingram and Mark Barron.

Mocking the Draft highlighted the Titans needs in this year's draft. Obviously interior line and defensive end lead the way.

I always load MCM and Rocky Top Talk at the same time.

I was really confused for a second when this picture was at the top of my page but the title involved the Titans.

"Do the Titans have a miracle left in them in what has been a magical season to this point? If they do, they need it now. Christie kicks it high and short. This doesn't look like a great 1st-2nd round draft for the Titans...

We either seem to be reaching up for a prospect that might be worth the #20 pick or we seem to be hoping that a higher graded draft pick drops to #20 …. doesn’t look overly optimistic for the Titans in the 2012 NFL Draft unless some players drastically change their Draft Stock between now, the combine and the 2012 Draft.

So that being said … which is pretty usual for the Titans … we’ll probably have a really solid draft … assuming we fill at least S/CB or DT/DE in a substantial way in the draft.

I share your concern

Looks like everyone wants us to reach for a Guard or DE out of need. I don’t want us to reach at all. I’d be much happier with Konz at 20 than a guard or a DE that isn’t much better than the guys behind him.

There are plenty of Gaurds to choose from
There are plenty of DE’s to choose from
There are plenty of Centers to choose from
There are plenty of WR’s to choose from

There are NOT plenty of Safeties to choose from! Barron or Bust
