Hey there with the season over and the league getting ready to go into full on off season mode I thought I would drop by and ask a few questions. You see my Lions like your Titans have needs that need to be fixed this off season. The reason that I am dropping by is that you guys have two big free agents that we are supposedly thinking about signing. I get into my questions after the jump.

My first question is about your safety Michael Griffin. I have spent some time here reading through past articles and fan posts and the overwhelming sentiment that I get is that you guys think that he sucks. But my question is could he be a victim of circumstance? Just a few years ago he was considered a great up and coming safety and seems to have fallen out of grace with you guys. The reason that I ask is because when he was at his best you guys had a dominant D Line and a great pass rush along with good secondary players around him. You guys had your pass rush fall off this year and you weren't very good against the run, so is it possible that he struggled because he had to try to do too much (play the run while covering the pass and covering for other players when they make mistakes). Now normally when I read from another site that a player sucks I tend to believe them, however I'm skeptical this time because of last year.

You see last off season you guys let go of Stephen Tulloch and when I came over to read about him all I heard was that you guys were happy to see him go because he was overrated and couldn't cover the pass. I became worried that we might be getting a bad player who was hyped because of a good season of tackles. Nonetheless we took to twitter and tried to throw our full backing to him and make him feel welcome. We were pleasantly surprised he played great for us. He was a monster against the run, (Playoff game excluded Thomas was like a man possessed) and covered so well that he didn't have to come off the field. He made many plays against the pass this year and had some great picks. I think he played well because we have a good D Line and he was able to focus on just a single job rather than everything. He is now probably our main free agent to give a contract to.

This brings me back to Griffin who I believe would once again play well for us because we have a good D Line, Linebackers, and some good secondary players. He would be paired with our young and upcoming safety in Louis Delmas. Those two paired together I think would form a great combo. Plus Griffin knows our system from having played for Schwartz already. You guys say he sucked but could that be because you didn't have a dominant D Line anymore? Just having good corning is not enough for a safety to play well. The Chiefs have two really good corners in Brandon Flowers and Brandon Carr but after Eric Berry got hurt their safety play was poor despite great coverage in man coverage on the outside. I know this because we played them and went right after their safeties and avoided their corners because their D Line couldn't get to Matthew Stafford. Plus we seem to have a thing for old Titans defensive players (KVB, Tulloch). So what say you would he be a good fit for us.

My last question is about Cortland Finnegan. He wants a payday and it sounds like that won't be with you guys. I'm sure you have already heard that we would want him (surprise) and I just wanted to know what you thought about that. We have some cap issues but you can always make it work for one year and should get some more room through extending Calvin and restructuring other players. So those are my questions.
