Greetings, MCM. This week has been a little dull, so this will be a bit of a flop of a post, like last week's. Just follow me through the jump for what will possibly be some amazing discussion points.
1. The Titans resigned Mike Otto this week. I really look forward to see if he can play interior oline. He has shown promise at the tackle position, so I am sure they can find a use for him this season.
2. Jason La Canfora reported Friday that the Steelers will not keep Hines Ward for the 2012 season, due to cap issues. They are expected to try to retire him. It's a shame that a guy with such a good career has to end this way. But, I'm not complaining that we won't be playing him any more.
3. Stanford Routt? I'd rather not sign a washed-up corner for a price similar to what it would cost to keep #31. I really hope the front office agrees with me.
4. Yesterday a report came out that the Titans have extended The Hawk's deal. I have to say that I am now on Team CAW CAW. Will he be Derrick Mason? Or will he be Justin Gage? Only time will tell.
5. Speaking of the 2008 draft class, in my last week's post I asked who was our MVP this season. The winner was a tie between Allstate and CJ1K. For those that voted CJ, why? I can't imagine what the argument would be for naming CJ our MVP. But this made me very curious. I went back to the 2008 draft to find the MCM responses about the Titans drafting the unknown "Chris Henry" replica. My favorite comment was from Kayne, which said
Worst pick of the draft? Is it Chris Johnson or Duane Brown?
Answer: Neither. Brown became an All-Pro tackle this season and CJ2K is the man we love. I can't wait for CJ to get back to his old form so that we can cheer for him like we did in 2009. All of the CJ hate ended after Jommy posted a great highlight video of CJ's college accomplishments which made us believe he would be our kick returner. We were wrong... But so glad we got him.
Have a great week MCM. And follow me on twitter @kgtitans27
