The loss of Steve Hutchinson gave Kevin Matthews plenty of run against he Texans, but it was not a banner performance for the no-longer-so young man: when he wasn't struggling against a stout pass rush he was busy getting popped for three holding penalties. Matthews had played much better in his previous performances, but that display showed there's a reason he hasn't earned a spot in the starting line-up and is only getting there thanks to a lack of warm bodies.
Speaking of the scrap-pile we're calling an offensive line: Dave Stewart joined Amano and Harris on the IR, Steve Hutchinson likely won't play on Sunday and Roos is hobbled with a knee injury. To add some depth, the Titans re-signed Kyle DeVan and added Daniel Baldridge. Former UT lineman Chris Scott was also added to the practice squad.
In another display of the kind of maturity we've come to expect from Kenny Britt, the 'mercurial' WR blew off the media availability time after Sunday's loss in classic VY style.
... and why wouldn't he run away and pout after this stat line:
Britt was targeted eight times, but caught just two passes for 40 yards and a touchdown.
Eddie George landed a job with his alma mater, Ohio State. He'll serve as their VP of Business Advancement, meaning he'll be a mentor and fundraiser. Early reports are that he'll be accepting donations $3.50 at a time.
