A Question From a Fair Weather Fan

Stay connected for news and updates

So now that more and more people (including myself) are starting to think cleaning house might not be such a bad idea, there's a very important question to answer. What do we do after everybody is fired? The truth is change isn't always a good thing. Trust me, I'm a Vols fan so I know what change can potentially lead to. Constantly firing head coaches just to get a culture change is only a solution if you're goal is to become the Cleveland Browns. I know everybody around here has higher aspirations than that since we've been so fed up with mediocrity (although right now I'd be happy with mediocrity).

So, change is great and all but it must be the right kind of change. The decisions you make after you've fired a head coach is far more important than the firing in the first place. Thank God it seems like the Vols are starting to figure that out. However, we're talking about the Titans here and what kinds of moves do we think need to be made?

For the sake of argument let's just assume (and it's a big assumption) that Bud Adams wants to clean house at the end of the season. Who are our options after that? What coaches do we have a realistic shot at and are any of those an upgrade over Munchak? As I'm writing this I realize that it may come across that I'm convinced there's nobody out there that's a realistic upgrade, however that's not the case. I'm genuinely curious to hear what some of you guys think.
