Titans DC Jerry Gray in the mix at Texas Tech.
Steve Layman of News Channel 5 here in Nashville is reporting that Jerry Gray met with Texas Tech AD Kirby Hocutt in Nashville last night to discuss the head coaching job at the school. Gray grew up in Lubbock, according to Layman, and has a charity foundation there.
There was a time earlier in the season where I would have been thrilled at the chance that Gray would be on his way out the door, but he has actually done a good job of late. Unlike the offensive staff, the defensive staff has made a number of changes and has been really solid. They haven't fixed some of the problems in the secondary, but it isn't Gray's fault that there just isn't a good safety on this roster.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Hocutt apparently also met with Texas A&M offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury and Clemson OC Chad Morris (no relation).
