Building a good football team is kind of like building a good house. The 1st & most important part is the foundation. Translation for football = the line. Everything begins up front. These games are won & lost in the trenches. I know it's not sexy, and I know these guys are not the "stars", but that's how it is. Look at this franchise, for example. Back when we were lighting it up with Warren Moon, the O-Line was made up of "blue chip" players, all 1st rounders including our current HC. Investing a lot into RBs & WRs before the O-Line is "built", is like putting in all your fancy doors & windows of your house before your foundation is laid. Same thing applies to the defense. You start building your good defense with the D-Line first. Then you add your LBs & DBs. If you over look these 1st crucial steps in the building process, well, you end up with a team that's not very good.
