The Titans have hired former Steelers, Lions and Colts offensive coordinator Tom Moore as an "offensive consultant" according to Jim Wyatt. Moore was at practice today and is expected to be with the team for the rest of the season. Mike Munchak had pursued Moore when he was assembling his staff, but they were not able to work anything out.
I am listening to 3HL, and they are pushing the panic button over this move because Munch said it was a "spur of the moment decision." I choose not to put much stock in that for a couple of reasons:
1. 3HL likes to push the panic button as much as possible because that is what drives ratings.
2. I don't believe for a second that this was a spur of the moment decision. As I said above, Munchak wanted Moore on his staff before, and it makes sense to bring in a guy that has a lot of experience calling plays when you have a guy calling plays that has no experience.
