Titans Place Javon Ringer on IR

Grant Halverson

The Titans announced just a few minutes ago that they have placed Javon Ringer on IR. Ringer hurt his knee in the game against the Vikings. It looked like a season-ender for sure when it happened, but it turned out to "only" be an MCL and he was expected to make it back in a month so the Titans didn't place him on IR.

Ringer being injured and taking up a roster spot was all fine and dandy until every linebacker on the team got hurt. For special teams purposes, the Titans really cannot afford to keep Ringer on the active roster at this point. They signed S Tracy Wilson off the practice squad to take Ringer's spot. He probably won't see much time at safety, but he will no doubt be out there on special teams.

In other injury news:

-Colin McCarthy practiced today and is expected to play.

-Michael Roos is officially out for Sunday's game. Mike Otto, who has not played a snap this season, will start in his place. Yay! /sarcasm
