The Titans fan guide to Week 9 in the SEC and NCAA

Hello MCM! It's been far too long since I did a fanpost here. I'm here to rectify that problem with a comprehensive guide to which NCAA players the Titans fans should be looking for this weekend. Every week, I'm going to pick a conference to spotlight it's best draft eligible prospects. I'll also throw in some of the marquee games out of conference as well. I hope everyone enjoys this new feature. There are some great games this weekend. First we start off with the vaunted SEC (hey if you want to hate them, then beat them in a game that matters).

SEC:

(11) Mississippi State Bulldogs vs (1) Alabama Crimson Tide Saturday 8:30 pm EST ESPN

Alabama:

OL Barrett Jones (Senior) - A physically dominating and smart lineman that can play all 5 line positions at the drop of a hat with 0 dropoff. He might be one of the best OL Nick Saban ever had at his disposal.

OL Chance Warmack (SR)- Not quite on teammate Jones' level but he's a good one in his own right. He projects as a guard at the next level. Warmack needs to improve his pass blocking skills a little bit but he's come a long way in that regard.

S Robert Lester (SR) - He's an underrated prospect thanks to the incredible secondary talent Bama has graduated to the pros in recent years (Mark Barron and Dre Kirkpatrick). A senior that has been a 3 year starter for the Tide. Lester has held his own finally being the leader of a loaded secondary.

CB Dee Milliner (JR) - Dre Kirkpatrick who? Yeah Milliner has been that good during his Bama career and namely this year. He's also a guy who played patiently behind Kirkpatrick while DK was getting all the hype and glory.

Miss State:

CB Johnathan Banks (SR) - A top 5 CB in the country anywhere you look. 4 year starter with a lot of picks on his resume. It's a wonder why teams still throw at this guy.

Tennessee vs (13) South Carolina Saturday Noon EST ESPN

Tennessee

OL Dallas Thomas - Arguably the 3rd best OL in the SEC just behind the Bama boys. He can play either OT or OG.

WRs Justin Hunter and Cordarelle Patterson

South Carolina

RB Marcus Lattimore - One of the best draft eligible running backs in this class. When he trusts his knee again, it will be fun to watch him

DE Devin Taylor - Mr. Clowney's (who's only a true sophomore and beast mode already) partner on the defensive line. A very good prospect in his own right as well.

S DJ Swearinger

Kentucky vs Missouri Saturday Noon EST ESPNU

Mizzou

DE Shelden Richardson - Mizzou's Karl Klug if you will. He's played everywhere in the front seven during his career. He matured a lot after running his mouth in the media about the SEC being an "old man's football league" earlier this year.

Kentucky

Is it basketball season yet?

(2) Florida Gators vs (10) Georgia Bulldogs "The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party" Saturday 3:30 pm EST CBS

This game as usual, is chock full of NFL ready prospects. This year's crop doesn't disappoint in that regard. For Florida, we have S Matt Elam, OT Xavier Nelson, WR Andre DuBose, among others. For UGA, there's S Bacarri Rambo, S Shawne Williams, CB Sanders Commings, LB Alec Ogletree, QB Aaron Murray, WR Tavarres King.

(20) Texas A&M vs Awwitburnz Auburn Saturday 7 pm EST ESPNU

A&M

OL Luke Joeckel and the latest of the NFL ready Matthews clan, Jake Matthews - Interchangeable 4th and 5th best ranked SEC OL.

Edit: DE Demontre Moore - He's come on like gangbusters this year for a surprisingly good Aggie defense. Moore has played himself into top 20 consideration so far.

Auburn

DE Corey Lemonier - He has produced on a consistent basis even in an down year that's rivaling Arkansas' terrible year.

Other prominent games on the schedule:

(23) Texas vs Kansas Noon EST - If you look hard enough, Texas has some good prospects on its awful defense.

Colorado vs (4) Oregon 3 PM - This game will get ugly by the time the 2nd quarter hits so watch RB Kenjon Barner, DE Dion Jordan, LB Michael Clay, LB Kiko Alonso while you can

North Carolina State vs North Carolina 12:30 pm EST ESPNU - The prospects here to watch are UNC's RB Giovanni Benard and OL Johnathan Scott. NC State also features their own guy in CB David Amerson

(9) USC vs Arizona 3:30 pm EST ABC/ESPN2 - The weapons on offense for this one is aplenty on both sides

(14) Texas Tech vs (3) Kansas State 3:30 pm EST Fox - Will Collin Klein's impressive Heisman run continue against the team that shut down Geno Smith's Heisman hopes?

(5) Notre Dame vs (8) Oklahoma 8 pm ABC - The best game of the day and College Gameday is in Norman. LB Manti Te'o vs that depleted Sooners OL should be fun to watch

Ohio State vs Penn State 5:30 pm ESPN - If you enjoy the "leisurely" pace of Big 10 football, this is for you.

(18) Clemson at Wake Forest 7:30 pm Thursday ESPN - WR Nuke Hopkins, WR Sammy Watkins, RB Andre Ellington, and QB Tajh Boyd should have a field day with Wake Forest.

And just because:

Duke vs (12) Florida State 3:30 pm ESPNU - A loaded FSU team faces off against the 6-1 ACC Coastal Division leading Duke Blue Devils (Yes you read that right). Former Tennessee assistant David Cutcliffe has Duke bowl eligible for the first time since 1994. Coach of the Year winner, anyone?
