Colts Head Coach Chuck Pagano Diagnosed with Leukemia

Stay connected for news and updates

Brian Spurlock-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano has been hospitalized and diagnosed with leukemia according to multiple sources. The good news here is that it is a treatable form of the disease according to Chris Mortensen of ESPN. Nevertheless, it is a sad deal for Pagano who is in his first year as an NFL head coach.

Mortensen is also reporting that Bruce Arians, the Colts offensive coordinator, will be the interim head coach while Pagano is out. The only time frame they are giving for this is that it will be multiple games.

I couldn't help but think about Mike Heimerdinger when I heard this news this morning, but the initial reports for Pagano seem to have a lot more optimism than Dinger's. That is the good news for Pagano, his family, and the Colts organization. We don't like them when we face off with them on Sundays, but no one would wish something like this on them.

Get well soon Coach Pagano.
