A look back to the 2006 draft

I remember reading this article shortly after we drafted VY and LenDale. Looking back on it, I kinda find it funny in a tragic way.

"In 10 years, Vince Young will have won two Super Bowls and will be a cinch Hall of Famer.

In 10 years, LenDale White will be considered even better than Jerome Bettis was as a chain-moving touchdown machine. If, moments after the Texas-USC national championship game, you had told me the Titans would wind up with Vince and LenDale, I'd have said, 'Right, and Elvis and Johnny Cash are playing tonight at the Opry.'"

I recall not being overly impressed with either pick. Mostly the Young pick… his test score (whatever it is called) being low tells one of two stories, both bad. 1) he is that dumb; 2) he didn’t try.

As for White, I was on the happy side of the scale only in that he was a recognizable name (I don’t watch much semi-pro ball).

Who else was in that draft?

We took Lenwhale over Mojo and Hester

But we did get Finny in the 7th. What a steal that was.

Same draft Miles Austin went undrafted in

Makes me sick looking at how many of those players are no longer on the team…. All of them but Finny. Hope he gets his new contract.
