PrintI really don't expect this game to be very close (of course I thought the Falcons and Giants game would be, so take that for it is worth). All of the "magic" Tim Tebow had when he first became the starter has gone away because he isn't a good NFL quarterback.
You better believe that Dick LeBeau will have some special stuff drawn up for Mr. Tebow that will not allow him to have very much success today.

I really hate this game.
I don’t want either team to win, and on top of it, I think it’s going to be boring.

Broncos got a better chance than people think.
No one has given them a chance, Big Ben is hurt, Broncos Defense is solid and can get pressure to Big Ben (maybe could knock him out but he is a tough guy), Mendenhall is not playing.
Might make the opponents prepare as not to lose instead of winning.

I can't speak for the players of any team
but with a national audience and the fact it is a playoff game, I imagine the planning and performance is stepped up.

Broncos better win, I could never root for the Steelers.
But I am afraid that they are gnna F things up 2 weeks in a row, last week for not winning to help us make the playoffs.
just think of what happens with the inevitable end of this game...
Pats v Steelers. ugh. unless you aren’t like me and actually like the Patriots. at least the Steelers can beat the Pats… Just color me an NFC fan in these playoffs.

I would like the NFL to do away with divisions.
I don’t see any reason the 8-8 Broncos or 7-9 Seahawks deserve playoff spots over more worthy teams. Or rather, keep the divisions but don’t give the winner an automatic playoff spot. Best teams by records should be in.

Divisions make sense because of rivalries and travel.
Owners wouldn’t want to pay for more travel, and players don’t want to spend more time on planes.

As long as we got divisions, I think that division winners deserve to make playoffs.
Now if they get like a 2nd or 3rd seed even with better teams with lower seeds is another question.

I do agree that it’s silly that a 7-win team can host a game, but that doesn’t happen that much. Plus the league and owners want to reward the team that wins their division.

What have the Broncos accomplished? By being the least crappy team in a terrible division? I don’t think they should be rewarded for that. Its great for them and each division goes through cycles of success/failure so maybe it all works out in the end, but there were certainly more deserving teams than them.

who would you replace them with?
the Titans only have a winning record because the Texans refused to win the game in week 17. Next couple down are the Jets, Chargers and Raiders.
Like you said, they were the least crappy team in the division. Hell, even the NFC had a lack of winning teams. The 8-8 Eagles and Cowboys were the closest “playoff” teams.

and while I believe the team has the potential to get motivated to deal some damage (esp. against Hou or Den), I think many here agree that they weren’t “playoff-worthy.”

of all the teams that were left out in the AFC we were the most playoff worthy. we would have beaten the texans yesterday because of our veterans that have been there before, Hasselbeck, Washington, CJ and the OL. I agree that we could have done some damage, like the Jets the past 2 years just making it and then pulling off upsets.

But that's the way the system is currently set up.
You can hate that the Broncos get to host a playoff game despite their mediocrity, but that’s how it’s set up to be right now. They won the division, they get to host a game, even if their opponent is better and had more wins.

Broncos defense plays with a lot of heart. The whole team does.
It’s a shame that Tebow polarizes so many people because to me, this team is fun (sometimes) to watch and easy to root for. 100% pulling for them over the Squealers

On a team of douchebags, he is my most hated.
Then Roethlisberger. I really don’t have anything against the rest of the team and like Mike Tomlin, but their fan base and our losses to them have fueled my hatred.

My feelings almost exactly.
Can’t stand Harrison, Rapelisberger, or Ward. I respect Polamalu and Tomlin, and I’m a diehard UVA fan so I like Heath Miller & James Farrior. But other than that, I’m indifferent to the rest of the players individually. Really just can’t stand losing to them all their bandwagon fans.

I can't say that I hate Tebow. I do, however, hate Tebowmania and all the hype!
I didn’t like Tebow the player in college, and I still have my doubts about his long-term success as a QB. But I have no issues with his faith or his diplays of faith. Although I do feel he exacerbates the media/faith thing by kinda using it as his personal pulpit every time there is a mic in his faith.
Again, I don’t have a problem with his faith or how he shows it, but he knows what he’s doing with the whole media thing.

Yep, give a ton of credit to McCoy, hell of a game plan and calling all day.
Came out and tried to do what they’ve been all season, but also used the playaction to perfection and took advantage of the man coverage. Ike Taylor is seriously overrated, was terrible all day.

Conversely we also saw what an injured mobile quarterback can do to damage his team.
Roethlisberger was terrible in the first half with zero mobility. He pretty clearly got something at the half cause he was moving around much more in the second.
Locker is definitely a different type of “mobile” than these two guys, but it will be exciting to see him on rollouts extending plays.

The more I see everyone's hatred for Tebow just because he dares have a religion, the more I want him to succeed.
People will cheer for murderers, rapists, people who shoot themselves in the leg, but mention God, and suddenly the hate is turned on full blast. I don’t get it. Now now. I dont mind his faith, to each his own
But keep it personal, football doesnt need religion and god talk all the time. It just gets very annoying because of all the hype around him and media coverage so its heavily amplified. Tebowing Im fine with but when you have to thank the lord every chance you can with a microphone in front of you, it just irritates me. Religion should be personal and has no real place in sports (not just tim tebow)

It was a great plan, great execution. Tebow made the big downfield throws that completely threw the Steelers defense off.

And the Denver wideouts were just flat beating the CBs who were in man coverage, and for the most part Tebow put it where it needed to be.

His throwing stunned me all day.
I didn’t think he’d look good at all. It’ll be interesting to see if another offseason can iron out more mechanics, because there is certainly some raw talent there.

Yeah, his mechanics still didn't look pretty to me.
That windup is just so low, but today it worked. If he works on that and footwork in the offseason, who knows what could happen.
I will say that Elway is going to have to stick with Tebow going into next season now, or there will be riots in Denver.

I was at the game today - great seats - it was awesome !!!!!
Funny thing is that I have never really cared for the Broncos, but I am now a fan. I love the Tebow thing, the running game, and the team has a whole different mojo than any of the previous years I have been out here.
Questions:
1) How was the atmosphere?
2) How many Steelers fans were there?
3) How loud did it get after the OT TD?
4) How was it post-game?
Bet it was fun, even for a neutral fan.

great game must say
1. the atmosphere had a certain intensity from the start which was unique to me as I had never been to a playoff game before.
2. there were a lot of steeler fans – maybe as much as 20-25% – and they were all there early. Denver has a lot of folks from the upper Midwest that consider the relatively cold (to me) climate here to be a huge upgrade. To Broncos fan’s credit, they shouted down the Steelers fans so well the whole time that I did not really notice them after the start of the game.
3. I was not really believing what I was seeing when the TD play was underway. Kind of in shock. It was pandemonium after the score. I kept on looking for a flag. Tebow and many of the other players made a round of the stadium high-fiving fans that were leaning from the first row. People were chanting “Tebow!”
4. Post game – everyone made sweet love
Can’t wait to see next weekend’s game.
