New Uniforms...

So it has been brought up at least once before, but since it is getting closer to time, I thought it was worth a mention again.

It is a fact that ( I want to say by April), that Nike is taking over the sponsorship for the NFL uniforms from Reebok. There have several versions of the nike-NFL Uniform that have been floating around the internet. Such as here: Rumored NFL Jerseys? Now it's easy to say this is fake. And again, I know this is a bit of an old topic. But with what Nike did with other college teams ( such as Ohio State), and them releasing videos such as the one below. It makes you wonder what might happen with them. Lets say the Uniforms are for real. Some of them don't look to bad, and several teams could use a makeover, but some teams are awful, such as the Titans. I'm not a big fan of the head-to-toe baby blue, and I like the logo to be somewhere at least. Surely, it's just a rumor and any final uniform might be still going through sever changes yet to be made. Still Nike seems to be bent on radical change....

If they are gonna change ‘em up, & I’m sure Nike wants to implement changes so everyone who owns a jersey will have to buy the new version, then I hope they use the dark blue as primary color. With light blue & red as secondary colors.
Make sure the damn logo is on the helmet.

Does anyone know if a change in uniform is likely. I recently ruined my white jersey and was going to buy a kluuuuuuuuuuuuuuug one. So if we have a new uniform coming then i’ll wait for that.

Changes are 100% up to the teams,

but Nike has basically said that they will be aggressively trying to persuade teams to make changes.

I’m probably in the minority, but I hope we go with some radical change to the uniforms themselves. My favorite design from the list i posted is the 3rd one. I think the simple tristar-circle logo is badass on the shoulders.

Really haven't seen many bad ones.

I guess because anyone who knows how to edit the pro combat template must have some idea of how to make the uniform look pretty sharp. I’m not too big of a fan of the ones that incorporate too much red, but overall there are a lot of good ideas out there.

Now there are a lot of peewee teams and things like that who take the titans uniform and turn it into a monstrosity, but as far as the procombat concepts go, it’s hard to go wrong, imo.

Funnily enough the uniform is the reason I started supporting the titans. Being in the UK i had no affiliation a team in particular and my local football (soccer) team wears two tone blue, so that’s why I started following the titans!

The new Titans uniform idea looks cool and all.

But I’d rather the Titans stick with something similar to the design we’ve had since moving here.

Nike won't be changing the uniform design. That is squarely upon the team

They will be changing the jersey style. I assume it will be lighter and tigher like NCAA unis. Which i love. I think the Titans are in need of a new jersey though. As well as logo. I want ot move on from the T in the flame and instead use the T Sword design.

The flaming T logo is terrible. What does it even mean? Why is a T-shaped sword with three stars around it flying through the air on fire?

Moving onto the sword logo, I think it could use some cleaning up as well. In my opinion, it’s too fat right now. And does it really need all that outlining? If you look at the bottom portion, there are 5 separate layers of color in the design (7 if it is outlined in white against a blue background). And what’s up with the handle on the sword? How does one hold that sword?

Sure, that’s nitpicking, but with Nike taking over, a new coach here, and a new QB, now would really be the time to revamp the identity of this team. That being said, I think we should move in the same direction as the Predators and design some uniforms more in tune with the state’s identity.

on the list I posted earlier, I think comes closest to the direction we should head. The simple tristar logo is badass and would look really nice as a shoulder patch (possibly with the player’s number in the center or just below in a simple white script).

Additionally, there is absolutely nothing (to my knowledge) in the marketing department for this team actually linked to the Titans of Greek mythology. I think we should add some link there as well.

I’m surprised that these rumors had all this momentum. did people really think that the NFL’s teams like Oakland and Green Bay who haven’t changed their uniforms in YEARS would suddenly let Nike make drastic changes like that? besides; Nike and Under Armour schools use those eccentric uniforms for one reason and one reason only; recruiting. that doesn’t really translate to the NFL very well.

that being said, I kind of do like the look.

I think if we redo our look...

We need to go with something classic looking that fits the Oilers throwback theme and the Greek mythological Titans theme. If we go with some of these modern looking unis we are going to look really really dated in about 7-8 years just like the Carolina Panthers (soooo bad).

I say we go back to the Navy blue and white. But just updated. Fix the logo.

And we need to fix our color scheme. I say we go all navy blue at home and all white on the road. And have our alternates be the oiler throwbacks. I don’t want to keep chaning uniforms. I would prefer a nice clean theme and keep it for good. Ala pitts, green bay, dallas.

Seen this for a while...

I agree that it would seem to make sense. However, my question is (and I honestly don’t know….) who had the jersey contract before Reebok? Did Reebok make huge changes when they came in? I can’t really think of anything on that front.

I wouldn’t mind seeing us move on from the flaming thumbtack.

As far as our uniforms, I think they stand out pretty well from the others. I find it easy to distinguish the team as being the Titans when they’re on the screen, and I like that.

and that’s what i thought. i really expect nike to use a different cut/material but keep the colors/patterns the same. though i’m sure they’ll be ready to go as soon as a team expresses any potential interest in a new jersey.

I don't have a problem with the uniform...but....

if you’re going to have that much Columbia Blue on the uni….I don’t want to see it on the helmet too. Make the helmet navy blue and put the logo on it.

I like them.

The colors are off, but I get the general idea. Also wouldn’t mind see a little bit of red splashed in there. Not too much though. I like having some contrast though, so if you’re gonna have navy pants…then I want Columbia Blue jersey & navy helmet. But as far as mixing it up a bit, yeah…I’m all for it.
