PrintThe phrase "lesser of two evils" keeps popping into my head when thinking about this game. The only problem is I am having trouble figuring out which team that is. I think it is the Texans because they have never really taken anything away from the Titans. This is the first time they have made the playoffs, and they were clearly better than the Titans this year.
Actually, now that I think about it, I hate the Ravens a lot more than I hate the Texans. If there were a way for both teams to lose that would be awesome, but since one team has to win, I guess I hope it is the Texans.
The Texans have a really good chance to win this one, even with all of their injuries, because their defense is so good. This game will be close late, so it is going to come down to which quarterback makes a late mistake. I am taking the Texans to win.

I am cheering for the Texans, and in all honesty, it’s not even close. We should have 2 rings if it wasn’t for the rats. I really want them to go down like we did in 00’/08’
I just can't see it happening with them playing at home.
However, regardless of who wins this game I expect them to get stomped by the Patriots next week.

I feel like they've declined as the year went on. Still very solid, but not as good.
Their schedule was really soft the past two months. Did a good job against Atlanta (10 pts against) and other than that, not much. Had 28 against the Panthers. The rest of their opponents were, from end-midseason, the Titans, Colts, Bengals, Jags, Bucs, Browns, Jags, Titans. That’s from Oct 23rd on.

Kicking Amano over to guard is still a problem.
He’s still going to get driven back.
IF Amano has to stay on the line this year, leave him at C. He does a phenomenal job calling protections and and a good job pass blocking. That’s going to be even more important if Locker is our starter next year.

Yeah, he's good with protections.
The proof is in the pudding, to a certain degree. Our line has been very good at pass blocking. They almost always do a good job of picking up blitzers, etc.
He’s a smart player and he can pass block, he’s just not strong enough or physical enough to play with the NFL’s defensive tackles.

I think Amano should be replaced, but our braintrust seems higher on him than we are.
I’m also not opposed to kicking Amano to G, especially if they target someone like Peter Konz, but I feel like Munchak wants Amano at C.

And Amano would be a much smaller problem if he was surrounded by 2 good guards.
Have you read Ben Muth’s article on the Saints o-line? He basically talks about how their 2 guards are so good, it completely covers up for a mediocre center, and even helps the tackles look better.

I think that defense just got beat.
Give credit to Alex Smith and Vernon Davis. Plus the Saints defense actually did a good job of shutting them down for the most part, limiting them to field goals on multiple occasions, especially considering the short fields they had and spotting the 17-point lead.

You know, we're sitting pretty good in the South right now.
The Jaguars additions are uninspired. Mularkey and Bratkowski are going to be in tough to make Gabbert into something, and retaining Gene Smith should ensure they go for a zillion small-school picks in the draft. The Colts are rumoured to be keeping Caldwell, which has to be a huge win for anyone not a fan of the Colts. The Texans will probably be the class of this division for a few years, at which point hopefully we take over from them.

Yep, though it pains me to say the Texans are the best right now.
Hopefully it’s a one-year wonder thing. IF Caldwell comes back to the Colts, I’m not even sure having Luck will be enough to get them back to the top. That team has a bunch of issues beyond QB, Luck is probably good for a few more wins but I don’t think Caldwell is that good a coach.
Smith seems to be trying to outsmart the rest of the league with these small-school picks, it has worked on a few occasions but he seems to be outsmarting himself more than anything.

I think with Schaub they're one of the best (and most complete) teams in the AFC.

I'll give them that. They are a more complete team.
I know we can expect this next year, we’ll have to see how his health is, but before Britt’s injury, our offense was looking just as potent as theirs even without CJ. Get CJ some contacts, address the O-line issuses, along with Britt’s help/insurance with another solid draft on D, and I think we’ll be right with them. All that considering that take care of some of our own FAs.

Some draft related notes from Rob Rang.
He has Cordy Glenn ranked as the 16th best prospect in the draft. That surprises me. I like Glenn but I wasn’t THAT impressed with him.
16. Cordy Glenn, OG, Georgia: A veteran Georgia offensive line was challenged by some exotic blitzes from Michigan State but Glenn held his own and didn’t allow any of the four sacks the Spartans forced in their Outback Bowl victory. The 6-5, 350-pounder moved outside to left tackle as a senior but the majority his starts come inside at guard, where many scouts view his NFL future.
And this is why I still don’t want Coples.
19. Quinton Coples, DE, North Carolina: Let’s be clear. Coples is the most physically gifted defensive lineman in the draft. At 6-6, 285 pounds physically-speaking, he’ll earn first-round grades from scouts working for 3-4 and 4-3 clubs, alike. Coples has developed a me-first reputation, however, and doesn’t play with enough snap-to-snap consistency to earn the top-10 grade from me that his talent obviously warrants. Coples’ uninspiring play has been evident all year long and was just as obvious in UNC’s 41-24 trouncing by Missouri in the Independence Bowl.

He has the speed on the outside we are looking for and plus some of the NFL team scouts have him ranked as the best WR in this class, EVEN better than Blackmon.

They need another weapon for Cutler, and to keep pace with the Lions and Packers. Unless they get someone in FA, plus they have to get Forte back too.

He has separation issues, and that is a bigger problem than what people think. In fact, Rang doesnt even rank him in his top 32, and a few other well-known scouts have done the same thing

I adore Jeffery, though I do realize many scouts don't have a first round grade on him.
If he drops out of the first, as you say it’ll be because of his speed. But his hands and style would be a great fit for this team. He oozes raw talent and potential, and apparently, is quite a hard worker.

actualy Queiroz is no longer Portugal national team coach, he was involved in some controversy last world cup and after a couple of bad games was fired…I dont like him much, he was good with youg guys and has experience with SAF but I think he is not a good coach
