Tennessee Titans 53 Man Roster

The Tennessee Titans made their final roster cuts today, and their roster currently consists of 54 guys because Chris Johnson doesn't have to be moved to the active roster until Friday. That 54 does not count Ahmard Hall who is suspended for the first four games of the season. The Titans will have to make a roster move later this week when the move CJ over to the active roster.

I am pretty surprised that they waived Jacob Ford.  It makes me wonder if the hamstring was injured worse than they were letting on.  That will be a guy I will keep an eye on because he has shown the ability to get after the quarterback.  If he is healthy someone will give him a chance.

They only kept four defensive ends total, and one of those is Morgan who is going to miss the first couple of weeks.  I guess, as suggested to me by NewsToTom, that they are planning on playing Sheppard at end- at least until Morgan gets back.

I must say I am surprised that Justin Gage is gone and Lavelle Hawkins is still here.  I am happy about it, but I didn't think it would actually happen.

Chris Hawkins is the one name that I am shocked to see on here, and my guess is that he is the next guy off either when CJ is activated or they claim someone on waivers.

It is important to keep in mind that just because these guys survived today doesn't mean they will be on the roster in Jacksonville.  Keep in mind that this time last year LeGarrette Blount was still on the roster.  He was cut on Sunday.
