About this Aaron Curry business ...
Seahawks Open to Trading Curry
So the top 10 defensive draft pick busts continue to pile up and now Aaron Curry is on the trading block. We have definitely made improvements at linebacker from last year, but Witherspoon only has one year left on his contract and I'm still not convinced that Gerald McGrath is an NFL starter. Given Reinfeldt's connections maybe something could be done on the cheap to get some new talent to groom at linebacker. What do you guys think?

Seriously?!
That’s crazy talk right there. Maybe a 5th rounder…maybe. I’d much rather just draft someone or sign someone a la Thornton.
Banned from Stampede Blue for comments made on MCM. Yes, I am a champion.

I had a crazy draft crush on Curry; I still think this dude can light it up in the league.
these days it’s hard to look good on the Seahawks…

That's not true, he's been thoroughly outplayed by every single one of his teammates, including an undrafted free agent and a 5th round pick.
Now he’s been benched for a rookie 4th round pick and deservedly so.

5th or 6th round pick
He’s a beast in college, and he’s average now but as of right now looks like he may have peaked, maybe temprarily
This signature was strip sacked by Karl "Goro" Klug, and hit late by Jason Jones.
I'd be OK with using a 4th.
Like you said, he was a beast in college. Surely all that talent isn’t lost.
The Force is with you, young SkyLocker, but you are not a Jedi... yet!
4th or 5th
No higher.

4th
4th or lower b/c the seahawks obviously don’t see much value in him.
maybe a fresh start and the right scheme and teammates will bring out his potential?
2010 MCM Pick'em League Champion
I'll pass on a Curry trade.
If he gets released then sure, sign him if you think the potential is there under the scheme, but Curry thoroughly underwhelms me.
Seahawks fan here.
Anything more than a 6th is a rip-off. Curry is arguably the worst starting OLB in the NFL. There’s a reason why he’s on the trade block after only 2 seasons starting. He’s a complete bust and nothing short of a monstrous liability on the field. Playing Curry is like having 10 men on defense.
This is a very informative article by a local Seahawks writer about why Curry absolutely deserved to get benched due to his horrible play.
In addition, here is a telling quote by starting free safety Earl Thomas that says just as much about Curry as it does about his replacement, KJ Wright:
“Smart kid,” free safety Earl Thomas added. "He has a future. He has a high football IQ. He wasn’t a weakness in our defense. He didn’t play like a rookie today.
This play pretty summarizes how Curry is a constant liability on defense. The reception only happens because he blows his assignment per the usual, which happens multiple times in every game.
Summary: Stay away, stay far away. Matt Hasselbeck may have worked out for you but don’t push your luck and waste a draft pick on a proven bust!

Maybe a 5th or 6th rounder
I remember Curry being hyped up as THE can’t-miss prospect of the draft the year he was drafted…
I don’t know why he didn’t pan out in Seattle…but he would probably have as good a chance to work out as any 5th/6th round LB we get next year.
