I’m not sure what all the confusion is about but it seems pretty simple. They guy was apparently told at some point in time that the Titans would take care of him and so he went on to put up this leadership front with the off-season organizing, etc. This was probably an incentive based decision on his part since he assumed he would be paid. Then, when the FO makes the offer and it’s not what he wants(100% they probably showed him the tape of his play the last 2 yrs), he “storms out of camp?”
I dunno, some slight speculation in there I suppose but to me it he’s acting like a fucking child, not getting his way and throwing a fit. He was only putting up that leadership front as incentive for them to pay him despite his play the last 2 seasons. And now he walks out when he doesn’t like the number they come in at…doesn’t like hearing the truth, you get paid what you’re worth in this business?
Doesn’t sound like a leader to me. Sounds like a manufactured leader trying to get paid. Frankly, because of this shit from him, I feel this team is better off without him at this point. He’ll only be a distraction from here on out. What does this say to the rest of the team? I bet more than half of his teammates feel the same way as us. Who leaves camp once you’ve already been here for a week? Cool ass-backwards holdout you dipshit. I used to like the guy, seems like a good guy, good community guy but with this shit? Fuck ’em.
Sorry for the long post, it was just the last bit I had to get outta me on this subject. Done talking about Cortland Finnegan. Hope he gets traded.
