Vincent Fuller Takes Pay Cut In Hopes of Making Titans Roster

Stay connected for news and updates

Jim Wyatt is reporting that Vincent Fuller has reduced his salary in hopes that he will make the Tennessee Titans roster. That is a smart move by Fuller because there was no way he was going to make the team at $2.06 million.

I still have no idea if Fuller has the ability to play safety in this league or not. He seemed to be a solid nickel for this team for a couple of year but hasn't played much safety at all. They always used the excuse that his position as the nickel was so important that they wouldn't slide him into a safety spot if there was a short-term injury, but I always thought if he could play nickel he could play safety. Apparently that might not be the case.

Safety is currently a crowded position that is going to be one of the more important battles to watch in the next preseason game. My guess would be that a spot would come down to Anthony Smith and Fuller.
