MCM Practice Meet-up Update

PrintToday is the big day! I am getting ready to roll out of Chatt-town and head up to check out my Titans. Who's going with me? WHO IS GOING WITH ME????
Practice has been changed to a 1:30 CST start today. Scheduled to sign autographs today are Derrick Morgan, Jason McCourty, Malcolm Sheppard, Brett Kern and Jovan Haye. (YAY! JOVAN HAYE!)
So come on out! Hang out with myself, Big Tuna, smash, Ice and ronburgundy!
You'll know you find us when you see three guys who look like this:
Of course that is Big Tuna on the right.
Well, smash just let me know that his fancy britches aren't back from the cleaners and his dog chewed on his sombrero, so it looks like I will just be rocking a Titans tshirt and Tuna will be wearing his #20 Alterraun Verner jersey (cause I left mine at the house like a dumbass).
And I will elbow you in the ear to get Jake Locker's autograph. Try me.

Sorry buddy, it's in the shop for repairs indefinitely.
On Joel Segal’s recommendation, we spent the majority of our budget on interior upgrades. We were a little uncomfortable with the idea of finishing the inside of the plane with rare finishes, but Joel pushed it really, really hard stating that these sort of finishes come around only once in a generation. As such, the finishes were not priced based on market rates for interior aircraft finishes, but, rather, compared to the prices of new jet engines.
I won’t bore you with any more details. Just know that it’s left us unable to spend the necessary dollars on upkeep and engine repairs. But, hey, the interior is really, really nice.

It's great, man.
From a business perspective, it’s not such a bad deal. The interiors are so nice, flash, and recognizable that we can regularly have MCM plane parties that generate good revenue for the site. It helps keep us relevant.
Still, the fact remains that the costs are such a burden that they have prohibited us from acquiring the necessary pieces that allow the plane to actually fly.
But! How are we going to pick up other talent across the country if our own MCM plane won't even fly it just looks really flash?!........

We made our bed with the interior finish decision.
We’re on a 5 year financing plan, so at least the costs are amortized a little bit. The real problem is the materials.
We weren’t looking far into the future, and GRamsey was adamant about having what was cool now. So, the seats are finished with this rare, live elephant upholstery. You read that right. The seats are actually living. They skin the elephant alive, which is really inhumane, but you’ve got to feel this stuff. Because it was skinned alive, they can immediately put the skin on the seats and the skin stays in tact. The elephant skin is so resilient that it will actually retain blood and remain amazingly smooth after application.
Well, here’s where we run into our problem. We spent all that money on live elephant skin, and didn’t even consider that it had a limited shelf life. In two-three years, the skin will “die” and we’ll be forced to re-upholster the plane all over again. And, to make matters worse, half of the money due in the 5 year payment plan is due regardless of whether or not the elephant skin holds up for the next five years.
It’s a real problem for us.
So great, we have living/bleeding elephant skin seats installed in a plane that won't fly to pick up potential game-changing talent waiting to play...
but at least we have the flashiest grounded plane ever known!! Too bad we won’t be going anywhere worth noting… in the plane I mean, of course.

Of course to see the highlights of the practice, but also really what everybody did from the MCM group.
