MCM Play of the Week (Preseason, Week 1)
So, uh, Jake Locker and so on. Yeah!
I'm just glad football's back.
Videos after the jump...
A. Lavelle Hawkins' diving catch from Matt Hasselbeck.
That certainly didn't hurt the Hawk's chances of making the team. Great read by Hasselbeck and execution by Hawkins.
B. Jared Cook climbs the ladder.
Thank God that Jared Cook's got hops, because that could have very easily been a pick 6. Prediction time: Jared Cook will lead the NFL in TD receptions. Ehhh?!?!?
C. BAHAGAAKALAHAHJAHA JAKE LOCKER NAHKAHABAKJHAKAKAKNA!
Accuracy issues, eh? Did anybody else completely forget that we had Yamon Figurs on the team until that pass? This play required a lot of luck, but Locker made the best of it.
Side note: I have never hear Mike Keith get so excited about a preseason play.
D. Jordan Babineaux's first interception as a Titan.
Wait. Why didn't he wait until their receiver caught the ball and then tackle him.
/confused
E. Jamie Harper's first professional TD.
This play isn't really on here for Jamie Harper. It's more on here for the great blocking by the rest of the team, including Hawkins (?!) - Ok, it's more because it's one of the 6 videos posted from the game, but hey, it's a TD!
F. Rusty Smith threads the needle to Damian Williams.
The velociraffe strikes again!!11! Also, props to D-Will for holding on to the ball after taking a pretty good pop.

Locker.
I’m with Mike Keith, I don’t think I’ve ever been that excited about a preseason play, either.
Maybe CJ2K’s run against the Rams where he took a handoff, went up the middle, through the D-Line, and then 80 yards for a TD. That was sweet.
Of course, wasn’t that the year the Rams ended up like 2-14?
Hmmm...
Of course, wasn’t that the year the Rams ended up like 2-14?
Wasn’t that also the year that the Titans went 13-3?

that was definetely a beatifull looking spiral, right there!
"He's an amazing talent. He's probably the most explosive back since Marshall Faulk and Barry Sanders." - Eddie George, about CJ.
I know everyone is gonna slurp Locker
but that Cook catch is spectacular and you’re all crazy for not voting for it.
I don't want to live on this planet anymore.
OK
I was the second vote for Rusty Smith.
I wanted to Vote for Locker.. but it would have been just on the fact he is the furture and it’s his first pro TD. Play wasn’t that great (though locker played a great game)
But Rusty had one hell of a throw there.
guess my point
guess my point is that I expect my 1st round QB to hit a WR that is that wide open

even after fumbling the snap and having enough composure to look down field and not throw off his back foot? I was pretty darn impressed.

no doubt it was a good recovery.. Rusty’s and hawks plays were great from the start
Locker was lucky because it appears the Vikings were running some type of delay stunt(hahaha) to the right. there was absolutely no pressure up the middle on the start of the play. Not to mention what the heck was Hall doing? whatever he did froze the LB’s.. LOL

other candidates
-the stop on 3rd and 1. It was on the Vikings first drive and it was huge for our defense
-Locker’s first completion I think, when he had pressure on 3rd down and stepped up, ducked under a tackle, and completed it for a first down.
The TD was nice and will be on SportsCenter and everything, but it was really the Viking DB not staying with the play. I thought the above two players were both better for us, and good signs of things to come
I would love to put plays like that in this every week...
Unfortunately, those are nonexistent on the interwebs.
I really wish I had access to the complete game film and complete radio call. This segment would be awesome with that.

If you have a large hard drive and Camtasia (or the like)
then you can access the game feed a lot of the guys use to follow the game, and pick and choose the plays you want to post.
Email me if you have any questions about how to make it work.

I know how to make it all work...
The quality of the online feeds just aren’t that great, and I’m just not willing to spend the money on a season pass.

Yeah, I understand about the season pass
and it’s good to have high standards for what you want to post. Thanks for doing these posts.
It’s great to have all the vids in one place to access without bouncing all over looking for them and/or waiting for them to load. Much appreciated.

I wish he would have just said it after it happen.

Perhaps
he felt it would have been overkill, what with nearly every Titan fan watching already thinking it themselves.

If there was a preseason hall of fame the Hawk would have a statue out front
