NASHVILLE, TN - AUGUST 13: Quarterback Jake Locker #10 of the Tennessee Titans drops back to pass against the Minnesota Vikings during a preseason game at LP Field on August 13, 2011 in Nashville, Tennessee. (Photo by Grant Halverson/Getty Images)
After each preseason game I will look at three players who helped themselves on both sides of the ball (three up) and three players who hurt themselves (three down). Here are my three up from last night's win over the Vikings:
- Jake Locker- We didn't really know what to expect from Locker after he missed all of the offseason because of the lockout, but he looked good last night. He threw early on the one pass to Marc Mariani, but other than that he didn't show any accuracy issues.
- Lavelle Hawkins- The Hawk is on the bubble for a roster spot, and he made a couple of plays early in last night's game, including a nice diving catch on a ball thrown by Matt Hasselbeck. The Fisher administration wouldn't put him on the field. He is going to get his chance now to prove that he can play.
- Jared Cook- Speaking of people who are out to make the Fisher staff look stupid, Cook was as advertised by Chris Palmer in last night's game. He showed off his athleticism early in the game when he went up and snagged a ball from Jake Locker.
