Jim Wyatt just tweeted that the Tennessee Titans have released defensive tackle Tony Brown. It really is terrible that he wasn't ever able to get his knee right because he was a really good player for a couple of years. He even had some flashes of being really good early last season but couldn't get the knee right for the long haul.
You could tell the Titans had a feeling that Brown wasn't going to be able to be back when they drafted 2-3 defensive tackles in the draft (Karl Klug is a tweener but probably plays DE for Jerry Gray).
This also puts a big spotlight on Sen'Derrick Marks. He was one of those athletic players that Jeff Fisher loved to draft. They said at the time he was a project. Well 2011 is year three of his career. It should become evident whether or not he can play this year.
[UPDATE]- Wyatt says Brown failed a physical for the Titans.
