2011 NFL Free Agency: Negotiations with Undrafted Free Agents Starts Tonight

Multiple media outlets are reporting that teams are free to negotiate with undrafted free agents tonight. They cannot actually sign anyone to a contract tonight, but plenty of teams have already started working out deals with players and their agents. [Update: John Clayton reports that the NFL decided to change the rule and allow teams to sign UDFAs immediately.]  The Tennessee Titans haven't been linked with anyone just yet, but I will update this thread throughout the night if/when they are.

This next week is going to be one of the most fun in the history of sports. Twitter is already blowing up tonight with teams agreeing with undrafted rookies. Can you imagine what it will be like the next couple of days as unrestricted free agents start getting linked to teams? I expect to crash more than once. The lockout did suck, but it is going to almost be made up for with the fun that is going to be packed into the next couple of weeks. I can't wait to see what the Titans do.

Undrafted free agents expected to be signed by Titans [Updated 7/26 11:22 AM]

  • TSU WR Joe Hills
  • Texas WR James Kirkendoll
  • Ole Miss LB Jonathan Cornell
  • Arizona State DB LeQuan Lewis
  • NC State WR Owen Spencer
  • Euclid WR Mike Preston
  • Ft Hays State WR OJ Murdock
  • Louisville TE Cameron Graham
  • Alabama A&M OL Anquez Jackson

I'd be really happy if we got him

I know it doesn’t mean much, but it sounded like Locker and Mason had a nice bond in those workouts at Father Ryan. And it’d be nice for him to help get Britt’s head on straight

nope

He’s smaller than Ayers, Tulloch, Allred, McCarthy, Witherspoon and Amato.
about the same size as Shaw, Malast, and Bailey

by Ice0ne (CAJ) on Jul 26, 2011 9:46 AM CDT up reply actions

Tully is listed as 5'11.

Allred and Witherspoon both listed at 6’1. Unless you’re talking weight and then he does lose out to ’Spoon, Allred and Ayers. I read his weight as 246 in the initial comment, my eyes are doing tricks on me.

Shoot bringing back Mason would cure alot of open wounds i have with this team. Perfect situation with Britt crap and weak depth (Gage and Hawkins mainly). But Hawk might be something if given a chance. Dont know at 37 one maybe two years but Locker needs somebody.

not sure if i want spencer

He’s a long strider that let’s the ball come to him rather than go get it. Good route runner but subpar speed

we have plenty of speed

I think we just need a few sure hands… people who can make outstanding catches (like a Santonio Holmes or Plaxico Burress type… not them personally, i want to groom our own superstar)

Collins gave us the best chance to win ma ballz

by Grimerz757 on Jul 26, 2011 9:07 AM CDT up reply actions

yeah griff is fast for a safety

but he doesn’t have elite FS speed

and McCourty is fast as well, but FInnegan is faster.
We need more speed offensively

by Ice0ne (CAJ) on Jul 26, 2011 9:40 AM CDT up reply actions

no

I’d say Washington is.

but on defense McCourty is second fastest, but his speed is close to Finnegan, i’d say he is more agile and atheltice as he showed in his Pick 6, that was called back
