The Ten Most Important Tennessee Titans in 2011: #7 C Eugene Amano
That headline is absolutely terrifying because it is true. If we believe what Mike Munchak has said, that he is happy with the interior of the offensive line and thinks the team can win with those guys, then Eugene Amano is going to be an extremely important player.
It isn't like Amano is a terrible offensive lineman. He wasn't the best guard in the world, but he played pretty well there back in 2009. They moved him to center last season and he was terrible. Why is that? I really don't know, but I hope Munch and Bruce Matthews are going to figure that out and change it in 2011.
They cannot allow Amano to be the starting center if he is going to be as bad as we last year. The good news is they have a couple of other players, Kevin Matthews and Fernando Velasco, that have some experience playing center. The bad news is I am not convinced that either of those guys is the answer.
It is going to be Amano's job to lose when camp opens if for nothing else because of all the money he is scheduled to make.

Velasco impressed me when he was in
I want him to have a shot at starting over Amano
It's all fun and games until someone gets a concussion from a stray flying footbal. *cough* Kerry *cough*

I'm well aware it's probably 90% loyalty to Bruce
But I think Kevin Matthews could be the guy.
"Do the Titans have a miracle left in them in what has been a magical season to this point? If they do, they need it now. Christie kicks it high and short. Gonna be fielded by Lorenzo Neal at the 25; he dishes it back to Wycheck; he throws it across the field to Dyson. 30, 40, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10, 5, endzone...touchdown, Titans! There are no flags on the field! It's a miracle! Tennessee has pulled a miracle! A miracle for the Titans!"

If this rings true for 2011
We’re fucked if we don’t switch Amano back to gaurd. Some players can’t do two things in one play I.E. Snap and then block.
Amano simply is not a top ten most important player in 2011.
Sorry, I just have to disagree.
GO TITANS!!!
I understand that,
but we have Valasco AND Matthews.
He just isn’t top 10 material by any means.
GO TITANS!!!
