Cortland Finnegan and Ryan Mouton Visited Father Ryan Student Battling Cancer

Stay connected for news and updates

Good lord could this offseason use a little good news created by Titans players. Luckily Cortland Finnegan and Ryan Mouton are here to save the day: The Titans CBs visited Kelsey Towns, a student at Father Ryan High School who has been battling cancer. Towns was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma last June, and she's been undergoing a battery of chemotherapy. Finnegan and Mouton surprised her with some words of encouragement, autographed jerseys and tickets to every home game last season. Finnegan and his wife were so inspired by the young woman's fight that they named their newborn baby girl Kelsey in her honor.

While this story has some good news for Titans fans, it contains even better news for Kelsey and her family: she's been in remission for six months now, and is planning to attend the nursing school at Western Kentucky University.

Apparently this bond was actually the connection that led to Cortland securing Father Ryan as the site of the players' workouts until the lockout is lifted.
