Dan Graziano is the ESPN blogger for the NFC East. He has been going position by position and looking at guys who would become unrestricted free agents if the service time is only 4 years in the new CBA. Last week he talked about inside linebackers and called Stephen Tulloch the "cream of the crop:"
Likely out in Tennessee because they fear he'll cost too much to keep, the 26-year-old Tulloch is the cream of this particular crop. He's a bit small, but he has great range and has shown the ability to handle the middle linebacker's responsibilities for the Titans. Lots of people expect former Titans defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, now the Lions' head coach, to be Tulloch's most aggressive pursuer as he continues to build a monster defense in Detroit.
It would make a lot of sense for the Lions to be interested in Tulloch considering Schwartz is former coordinator and Lions defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham is his former position coach. Tully would be able to rack up some tackles playing behind Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley.
The only other 4-3 inside linebacker on Graziano's list is Tampa Bay's Barrett Ruud. He is a guy that will probably be on the Titans' radar, but I suspect ultimately they decide to go with what they have on the roster, whether it be Will Witherspoon or rookie Colin McCarthy.
