Chris Johnson Wants Plaxico Burress on the Tennessee Titans

Tennessee Titans RB Chris Johnson isn't shy. First he told us that he would like to play with Cam Newton. Then he said that Jake Locker is going to be the starter. Now he is telling Plaxico Burress on Twitter to come to the Titans.

Here was Plaxico's follow up tweet to CJ.

I do like that pancake pantry in Nashville, just saying. We will talk though @chrisjohnson28less than a minute ago via Osfoora for iPhone Favorite Retweet Reply

I don't see the Titans going the Plaxico route, but he does have less run-ins with the law than Kenny Britt (HA!). I think Plax probably has a few good years left in him though.

I like this idea.

Another big receiver and some with expeirence in prison time to hopefully get through to Britt.

The Force is with you, young SkyLocker, but you are not a Jedi... yet!

Yeah

He’d be good for getting those first downs on Hitch routes.
and i wonder if he has lost any speed or if its just about the same

get it done, I’d love to have this dude. hopefully, he’ll bring a stabilizing effect on Kenny Britt with him.

I'd absolutely do it.

And maybe he can tell Kenny Britt what jail is really like and get him to stop being such an idiot.

I'm leaning towards no

We can assume he won’t get himself locked back up, but what about his physicality? That’s a long time to not be running routes. Plus, who says he now arrives for meetings on time, play hard every snap, cares about ota’s, etc?

it was an even longer time for Vick, I think if Plax succeeds, people are going to look at signing guys who have been to prison in a different way.

I’m hearing interwebz speculation of Plax going from one Manning to another in Indy and also of Plax in Vikings purple. another source has him signing with the Steelers, and still another has Seahawks. who’d have thunk he’d be such a hot commodity?

if he ends up in Indy, i might shoot myself in the leg. no way. they like to think they’re above signing players of questionable character.

that explains Marvin Harrison then…

I've seen him linked with the Rams.

If you want to add another team to the speculation. Doubt the Steelers would go for it, they also like to think they’re “classy”…despite having Roethlisberger at QB, and James Harrison (who I just don’t like). My money is a surprise team that is not being speculated on right now…Tampa Bay anyone?

I hear it’s actually the coaching staff who wants him.

confession; I like James Harrison the player. the chip on his shoulder is too big to measure and he plays with a mean streak. the bull-rush LBs have always held a soft spot in my heart.

James Harrison just beats the hell out of people, it’s funny to watch him just toss fools outta the way. Dawkins and Orakpo are my favorite players in the league though if it makes you feel any better.

I really don't like Plax, so I'm going with no.

Shooting yourself in the leg ranks right up there with swearing at the Commish on facebook.

Bruh

Man! i played with him in high school.
Bruh is has great closing speed, Hit power, and tackling form.

As well as he can cover a tight End!

Haven’t had that in a while

by Ice0ne (CAJ) on Jun 21, 2011 6:41 PM CDT up reply actions

i'm fine with plax

he’s physical, and would be an upgrade. and what did have to do in prison besides hit the gym? he can’t be more out of shape than a lot of the other guys.

and we should embrace the power of the Pancake Pantry. perhaps more people can be swayed to join our team.

I'm for it

Maybe he can scare Britt straight on prison life. Another deep threat weapon for Locker to use and it should free up Mariani and Williams in the slot.

I'm down.

Everyone has always said he was no trouble in the locker room, was a good teammate, etc. He just did a stupid thing outside of football. I’d love to see him line up for the Titans. Unless the coaching staff decides to go the Randy Moss route with him…

by oshoney on Jun 21, 2011 3:20 PM CDT reply actions

I don't get it

I mean we already have Randy Moss, so how about we just resign him and put him and Britt on the field together. No? well fine then bring that dumbass to TN

by DuelDukes on Jun 21, 2011 3:51 PM CDT reply actions

I'd be all for this...

..but it’s not going to happen. The Titans’ front office is going to stay away from anyone with anything resembling a character issue after the Pacman/VY/Britt incidents. And, speaking of Pancake Pantry, I could really use that right about now. Has anyone ever been to the one in Gatlinburg? Despite it being the original, I still think the Nashville one is superior.

by nvemvp23 on Jun 21, 2011 4:03 PM CDT reply actions

YES. the Gatlinburg one was amazing the couple of times I’ve been there, highly recommended.
