Tennessee Titans Daily Links: SouthTexasTitan Edition
August had work stuff interfere with the links today. I appreciate STT stepping up and getting us some links. -Jimmy
Jeff Fisher is set to climb mount Kilimanjaro with Tedi Bruschi and Former Eagles TE Chad Lewis to raise awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project.
CJ pulling the race card claiming he was targeted by the police because he's young, black, and rich.
Chris Simms found not guilty, his friend took the blame, even after Simms admitted to taking four puffs. His lawyer downplayed the bloodshot eyes in the mugshot claiming that Simms was "a little bit tired".
PK discusses Locker and Gabbert, and the situation in Tennessee and Jacksonville. I think Locker will do a lot better in Tennessee than people think, after watching a couple of videos today I find myself becoming annoyed when people knock on his pocket passing. The protection was absolutely horrible and he was running for his life half the time. Veteran wise I'm personally hoping for McNabb due to the similar playing style to Locker's. Weapon wise I'm look forward to see some bombs from Locker to Britt(If he can keep his nose clean) I'm sure Locker will be able to catch him in stride. CJ should also benefit seeing as Locker isn't a statue in the pocket, he had an official 4.59 40 so that should keep defenses on their toes if it all pans out.
Mel Kiper likes Karl Klug for some early impact, he probably does well but, I really have my eye on Jamie Harper, could he be that change of pace the Titans are looking for at the HB position?

good deal
read most of it this morning when my daily fix of morning links didn’t go up.
CJ=really not too bright, but glad he’s OUR RB
Simms=still high
Harper=someone I really like on this roster, and a steal in the 4th
He was buried on Clemson’s depth chart behind some really solid talent. He is big, and quicker than you would think. Also, he runs with a high pad level, which can be fixed a little to deliver more blows than he takes. At his size he is a real load. So who will stick, Ringer or Stafon J.? I have a feeling Ringer will be trade bait…unless Stafon goes on the practice squad. But I keep saying this, I really think he looked good during pre-season last year. Quick, elusive, decisive, and delivered some hits rather than take the pops.

One thing I think that gets underrated from analysts is Locker's pocket presence.
Its at least adequate I would say, and certainly nowhere near as bad as Gabbert’s. Locker spent all those years dealing with terrible protection, but as a nice by-product, he’s learned to keep his head up when shifting in the pocket or on the move.
I have to disagree with you on the pocket passing issue. Its a very real concern. I think what supports your argument is that Locker has a better rate when outside the pocket than inside it, which would lead one to believe that that other factors influenced his pocket passing, since on-the-move throws are harder. However, from what I’ve seen, he still needs serious work on that aspect of his game.
On the CJ article: I think the author makes it sound worse than it actually is. Obviously a dumb thing to write by CJ, but considering the nonsense we’ve seen come from athletes’ Twitter accounts, nothing really surprises me.

I'm suprised anyone understood what CJ said at all.
At this stage of the game, I want to hear all of the positive news about our draft picks as possible but I’m wary of Mel Kiper Jr. My gut tells me Ringer is gone and Stafon stays with us. I think Harper will outplay both of them and solidify himself at the #2 RB position. Besides, teams have seen Ringer in action, throwing in something different, albeit not by much, should help our boys get some extra yardage

I read that a few moments ago. It's a sad thing for me.
I’ll miss Gus. I have a feeling so will CBS. Dumb move CBS.

He always made the bad, boring games a little more exciting.
And considering the season that lies ahead for us, I may miss him for than ever.

I know what you mean. He could make a bake-off exciting.
I always looked forward to games he called. Now that’s been taken from this season too.

"Do the Titans have a miracle left in them in what has been a magical season to this point? If they do, they need it now. Christie kicks it high and short. Gonna be fielded by Lorenzo Neal at the 25; he dishes it back to Wycheck; he throws it across the field to Dyson. 30, 40, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10, 5, endzone...touchdown, Titans! There are no flags on the field! It's a miracle! Tennessee has pulled a miracle! A miracle for the Titans!"

CJ
ok, that has to be the most ridiculous story I’ve ever heard. So some d-bag calls the cops because there are a lot of nice cars coming into a condo. that’s all it takes to call the cops on someone now?
TN Sports fan in Hoosier Country....
Is it possible that Harper could take over FB position?
I like Hall, but I’ve heard that Harper is a great blocker, and he does have adequate size.
Maybe a two back system with Harper and CJ getting most of the carries?
AS far as Simms goes—I cringe every time he was in the ‘spotlight’ and touted as Titans QB. The only reason he’s on the Titans roster is because of the lockout and we can’t get rid of him yet….
...what I meant to say was...
