I Welcome A New Era In Titans Football
Before the draft tonight, I was mainly hoping we'd trade back and stock up on some picks.
Then came Jake Locker.
I laughed with so much joy. I was terrified with Gabbert still on the board. I went into tonight with the hopes of getting either Locker or Dalton. Locker was my favorite of the quarterbacks in this draft and I'm happy to see him join us.
He's going to bring on a great new era for us. No more suicide crap. No more pads in the stands and a QB expecting praise for something he hasn't earned. Locker brings dedication, determination, intelligence, and a great attitude. He's a natural leader and is a team player. Stayed for his senior year in Washington to take his guys to a bowl and he did it.
I for one, welcome Jake Locker with arms wide-open
Best of luck to him.

I could take a guess...

I love the pick and totally believe we NOW have a QB that will lead the franchise
but some people in the other posts on here want to compare this pick to the worse nuclear accident in human history… so.

My initial reaction was ..
“WTF?”
But after some time seeing how he wouldn’t have lasted much longer, how good of a guy and hard worker he is, and what he can become, I like the pick.
WOW
THE NFL
I'm holding back optimism
I’m just worried about that low score on the wonderlic. The top ten starting quarterbacks in the NFL today all have significantly higher wonderlic scores than he did. The test doesn’t hold a candle to his intangibles (which are quite great) but there is a reason why the best quarterbacks in the game have higher scores on the test. Nevertheless, it is still a major upgrade from Vince Young and his lowly 15. I’m not jumping for joy, but I think it is a decent pick. If I gave it a letter grade it would be B-/C+

*15
I still believe the 6 was a real score that he got…and turned out to be much more indicative of him.
Good evening. I'm Ron Burgundy, and here's what's happening in your world tonight.

Look at the Wonderlics of Hall of Fame QB's
There are multiples in the teens.
Seriously.

Which ones?
Nearly half of them played in the barefoot era. NFL quarterbacking has gotten way more complicated since then. The most recent ones (Aikman/Elway/Young) all have above 25. Marino got a 16 and Jim Kelly got a 15. (Are these the multiples you are referring to?)
By the way, I’m not blasting Locker, I realize his potential is just as high as anybody’s. The score concerns me. He is missing 2 parts of the 26-27-60 rule. Forgize me for not going absolutely wild over him. That is what the season can bring.

Terry Bradshaw
Wouldn’t have made the Hall of Fame if the Steelers didn’t win those super bowls in the 70s. He knows that. I believe he even admitted it. Even using him in the discussion, the majority of the best NFL QBs have 25+ scores. You must not have looked at the site too closely, the top 10 QBs playing today have 25+ scores and I will guarantee that at least 4 of them become Hall of Famers.
I really don’t know what you are trying to accomplish here. Are you trying to tell me that Wonderlic scores just don’t matter at all? Or are you just being arguementative…

Are you just pissed off?
I’m saying the Wonderlic isn’t everything. McNair was a great QB for us. Marino was a great QB. Around 25 is a decent score for a QB to have on the wonderlic but just because he got lower doesn’t mean he’s garbage.
“I really don’t know what you are trying to accomplish here”
I was adding to the list. You asked “Which ones?” and I told you.
Thanks for being a douche! =D

I didn't say anybody was garbage.
Except you.

WARRIOR
Jake Locker is a warrior. In four years as a Husky I never saw him slide.
Please Titans teach first thing this guy how to slide.
His instinct when running is to lower his shoulder and pancake safties He is fearless almost to the point of recklessness.
One thing mot mentioned last two years he had a target on his back opponents knowing if they knocked him out of the game it would be a walkover. As a result he took a lot of late hits out of bounds.
I am now a proud Titan and with much disgust will have to subscribe to NFL Network. If I am still around I will be a Titan fan 20 years fron now when he plays his last game. This guy is loyal to the nth degree and we Husky fans will cherish his memories for many years.
Support our student athletes, have faith in the coaches! "...it's how you play the game!"
Jake
I’ve been a oilers/titans fan for 30 years and i’m happy to have jake on my team! any body who isn’t jump off my wagon and stay off…
Completely Happy
That Jake Locker is a Tennessee Titan. I was shocked that we didn’t pick Gabbert at first, but the pick grew on me like the CJ pick grew on me over the course of time. Watching various videos about him make me even more excited for him to play his first NFL game. Munchak is going to develop him just like we developed McNair and he’ll be great.
