For the millionth time, it is impossible to know what is true and what isn't this time of year, but there was something interesting in a chat that Rob Rang did Thursday at CBS Sports. He was asked about the Titans targeting Jake Locker with the 8th pick. Here was what he had to say:
I believe the Tennessee Titans are strongly considering Jake Locker. I sat next to Ruston Webster, among the key decision-members in their front office two years ago (he was with Seattle at the time) at UW-Cal, when Locker was outstanding. You could see his interest then. He seemed just as interested in Locker at his Pro Day.
I sure hope this is just a smokescreen because Locker isn't worth the 8th pick. I am not sure he is worth any pick as a quarterback, but they would be giving up the shot to get a defensive player that could be a superstar to take an inaccurate passer. Doesn't sound like a great strategy to me.
