MtD 7 round mock draft Titans results part 2

Yep, there was another MtD 7 round mock this past weekend that just finished up on Sunday. Huge props to seton hall and steelers + ramintheuk for running the thing by themselves. There were a LOT more of trades compared to the first 7 round version we did 2 weeks ago as we had unlimited trades. The MtD community did a great job making picks. This time, we have the specific pick numbers, trades, and analysis. Anyways enough of the chit chat, the results after the jump!!! JUMP!!!!

The Trades:

1. Titans' #8 for the Steelers' #31, #63, #128

2. Titans' #39, #77, #109 for the Falcons' #27, #124, #158, #192

3. Titans' #31 for Raiders' #48, #113, #122

4. Titans' #113, #128, #148, #176 for Rams' #78 + #145

5. Titans' #124, #145, #158 for Falcons' #122 + #181

6. Titans' #142  for Vikings' #172 + #215

7. Titans' #212 for Falcons' #229 + #230

The picks:

(1. 27) Ryan Mallett QB JR Arkansas

WHY - He wasn't my first choice here but unfortunately I had to work so I got BQBA'd at this spot but willing to go with it. The Steelers took Prince A from Nebraska at 8, BTW

(2. 48)  Sam Acho DE SR Texas

WHY - The trade with the Raiders got us this pick here. Most scouting reports and the MtD community really likes Acho as a hybrid DE/OLB type that is projected into the early 2nd round. He also fills a need at DE and builds some depth at OLB.

(2, 63) Terrell McClain DT USF

WHY - We needed a space eater in the middle like Fat Albert to anchor the line. McClain is a great athlete at 6'2 291 running a 4.8 40 and showed great ability in his position drills at his pro day and the combine (so much so that future HOF DT Warren Sapp and Mayock raved about him).

(3. 78) Jurrell Casey DT JR USC

WHY - 2 DTs back to back you ask? well we need the depth and Casey was just sitting there at 78 much to my surprise, It's time to beef up the DL anyways plus he's a BPA pick.

(4. 122) Chris Conte SS SR Cal

WHY - The BPA safety at this point in the draft. I wanted to take Deunta Williams but he was taken already. Also an insurance policy if RJ doesn't pan out, Hope decides to give up 6 million busted plays and missed tackles and Myron Rolle can't play. It also means no more MCM Favorite Donnie Nickey!!!

(4. 124) Ronald Johnson WR SR USC

WHY - This pick was brought to you by our main sponsor, the New Jersey state patrol!!! vehicle and superstar WR ability sold separately, brain not included in any purchases (an additional fee is required to buy one). On a more serious note, RoJo is a pretty good WR prospect that took over Damian Williams' old job at USC.

(4. 130)  Akeem Dent LB SR UGA

WHY - With the impending loss of Tulloch to a big bucks contract in Free Agency, I picked Dent who made himself a lot of money during his senior season, Senior Bowl, and his recent Pro Day. He can team up w/ former UGA teammate Rennie Curran cause absolute havoc in the middle. Dent was also the successor to Curran's MLB spot at UGA.

(6. 172) Allen Bradford RB SR USC

WHY - LenWhale White wears Allen Bradford pajamas. Bradford is a 3rd down/goal line specialist w/ surprising athleticism and good hands out of the backfield for his size (5'11 240) ran a 4.5 40. He will push Ringer for a backup job along w/ Stafon. I hope that both AB and Stafon make it in over Ringer.

(6. 181) Markus White DE/OLB SR FSU

WHY - Another prospect to beef up the DLine and possible future hybrid transition. A JUCO Transfer to FSU, 2 year full time starter for the Noles. A senior campaign that made him a lot of money in the draft process. He reportedly ran a 4.7 at FSU's pro day measuring in at 6'4 270.

(7. 212) Jerrod Johnson QB SR Texas A&M

WHY - It's the 7th round and this is QB depth filler time, Johnson is a long term project that may work out if he learns a lot on the bench for a couple of years. Two QBs in one draft? Yep I was bored at this point and decided to take a flier on Johnson.

(7. 229) Spencer Paysinger LB SR Oregon

WHY - BPA LB here plus builds depth both inside and outside, he may be better playing ILB, however.

(7. 230) Kris Durham WR SR UGA

WHY - A UGA WR not named AJ Green who handled playing in Green's shadow as the #2 option fairly well. A great athlete who ran track in HS and part time at UGA. Durham was snubbed out a Combine invite so he tore it up on his pro day: 6'5 217 guy who ran 4.43 40, bench rep 17 times, 35 inch vertical, 10-1 broad jump. KD showed his solid hands all throughout the process. This pick only helps to move Gage along further down the road to unemployment in a Titans uni, besides isn't it time for the Gage dropsies to become someone else's problems?

(7. 251) Vance Cuff CB SR UGA

WHY - A decent corner who has to learn the art of playing CB some more (who better to do that than under Jerry Gray, a great CB back in the day). Most experts have him graded out as a UDFA so it isn't too much of a reach this late into it. Another return prospect that sit and learn the game.

1. Eddie Jones DE TEXAS
2. Ryan McMahon C FSU
3. Shaun Chapas FB UGA
4. Andrew Phillips OG Stanford

The MtD community reaction: a range of A to B-. I have gotten mostly positive feedback from other SBN home sites as well.
