Titans to Workout Nevada QB Colin Kaepernick
John Glennontweeted last week that the Titans will be bringing in former Nevada QB Colin Kaepernick for a workout March 29th. Kaepernick seems to be rising up some draft boards recently. He showed off some really good arm strength when he threw at the combine in February.
I wil say it again, it is going to be really exciting to see what happens with the quarterbacks in this draft. Right now it looks like Kaepernick is the sixth or seventh QB in this draft behind Cam Newton, Blaine Gabbert, Jake Locker, Ryan Mallett and Christian Ponder. Andy Dalton also might be picked before Kaepernick, but I think that will come down to team preference. There are things to like and dislike about Dalton and Kaepernick.
So far we know the Titans are bringing in Von Miller, Jake Locker and Ryan Mallett. I would love to get some reports from those workouts, but I am pretty sure they will be behind closed doors.

Round 1: Fairley or Dareus Round 2: Kaepernick
Round 2 may be early but i think if you believe he is the QBOTF you gotta take him.

I think Colin is a more longterm project
but I think he could be a really good QB in this league. Especially is Dalton is already gone, I say absolutely grab him in the 2nd round.
I live in the OC.
The one in OH.
If we get a guy like Kaepernick
we better have a damned good vet QB because I don’t think he will be ready to play any time soon
Patrick Peterson= Next Deion Sanders. Julio Jones sucks.
I don't understand what the appeal of drafting "project" quarterbacks is.
when does it ever work? even when said quarterback is given the keys to a Benz and told not to crash it (Tavaris…) they seem to fail miserably. perhaps there’s someone I’m missing, but when’s the last time a project QB was successful?
Get 'em.

also don't think he was a project
they drafted him after he fell into their laps specifically to ride the bench until Favre left. he was incredibly efficient in a pro-style offense at Cal and was probably the most complete QB in that draft. I think the only knock on him was his size.

It's all fun and games until someone gets a concussion from a stray flying footbal. *cough* Kerry *cough*

he wasn't a project
he was taken number 3 overall. you don’t draft a guy that early unless you’re sure he’s the guy.

none of them really have the credentials to back it up like he did
McNair was literally the most prolific offensive player in college football history.

Just because a guy was chosen in the 1st round
does not make him “not” a project QB. A project QB is a guy that has to sit and learn frm players/coaches. Very few actually step in a tear it up.

I don't think he's a project. I think with the right coaching, he could start in a year or 2.
Or worst case scenario, he starts from day 1. Still better than Rusty who at the moment is our starting QB.
I say we go back to back defense in round one and two
This draft is loaded with good defensive prospects. Not crazy about any of the QB’s in this year’s draft. Especially not Kaepernick.
I know he has a lot to work on
but man this dude can light up a highlight film. I mean, footwork and some of the tech stuff needs a lot of work and we would need a vet to learn behind. But I think he can get it together in a couple years and be possibly huge.
I have alresady expressed
my man crush on this kid. Just not in round 1 where we are at 8. Now if we somehow trade down…but it all depends on who is available at our spot.

btw
Colin Kaepernick threw the fastest pass at the Combine (59 MPH), ran the fastest 40 time of any QB at the Combine (4.53-40), and he scored a 37 (out of 50) on the Wonderlic test, so he’s much better than Vince Young ever was. He had the strongest arm at the Manning’s passing camp last summer (out of over 300 of the top QB’s), is a 4 year starter, in 2010 leading Nevada to a 13-1 record as a senior (great leadership skills), and completed 64.9% of his passes.
