2011 NFL Draft: Patrick Peterson Tops Mel Kiper's Latest Big Board

Stay connected for news and updates

Mel Kiper has put out his first post NFL Combine big board today (In$ider), and he has moved Patrick Peterson up to the number one spot overall.  Here is what he had to say about Peterson:

Analysis: An extraordinary athlete, Peterson showed off 4.34 speed in the 4 and carries safety size. Tape is superb; helps in return game. A potential star. Last week: No. 4

Nick Fairley, who was #1 on the last big board, dropped to 2 followed by Da'Quan Bowers.

Other notables:

  • Alabama DT Marcell Dareus moved up from 8 to 4
  • Georgia WR A.J. Green dropped from 3 to 6
  • Auburn QB Cam Newton dropped from 7 to 10
  • Kiper was not that impressed with the numbers Julio Jones put up- only moving him up 2 spots from 15 to 13
So it is pretty obvious that Patrick Peterson was one of the biggest winners at the combine.  I don't see any shot he drops all the way to the Titans draft pick at 8 with all the buzz that is surrounding him, but you never know what can happen on draft day.
