This is my first post on the MCM site and I'm so stoked to be around a group of people who love My Titans as much as I do. Now onto my post…

I saw the Cam Newton workout that is being rerun all over the internet and ESPN. I will admit, he looked good! I know he is almost a mirror image of VY however, I think he possesses a much higher level of self control and maturity, something VY obviously doesn’t have (this was evident to me with how Newton handled himself during the whole daddy problem).

None of us can deny his pure athleticism and skill. I think the fact that he is working at getting better under center and showing that he can throw accurately, by the way, Warren Moon is his Mentor/coach right now along with Whitefield, that’s a good group of guys he is learning from.

I think if Cam continues to improve and show us he can be as dynamic throwing the ball as he is running the ball, (who knows maybe like a Vick, minus the dogs??) Then he may be worth picking at #8. This would automatically re-create the VY effect we had in the backfield a season ago which made a sensational season for CJ a year ago.

I know we need to address Defense in this draft and during free agency, and I still believe we need to bring in a Veteran QB capable of starting for us while we get a person like Newton ready for a future role, maybe Flynn, Kolb (who I would love!), and yes maybe even Carson Palmer, as much as it hurts to say it. Nonetheless, I feel like there are enough good defensive players in this draft to where we don’t need to draft one with the first overall pick.
