PFF's Re-Focused has lots of good things to say about David Stewart, Chris Johnson, Colin McCarthy and Jurrell Casey, but this was the line that sounded familiar in a SMH kind of way:
- Titans QB Matt Hasselbeck only completed three passes aimed longer than 10 yards the entire game.
Kenny Britt was scheduled to appear in a Davidson County court today on charges that he provided false information on his driver's license application, but on the eve of his court date the prosecutors have opted to drop all charges against Britt.
Jeff Fisher should have his pick of teams to coach next season, including possibilities in San Diego, Dallas, Miami, Jacksonville and Kansas City.
Congratulations to Cortland Finnegan for winning the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, as voted on by his teammates, for the second year in a row.
If the Titans stand a chance against the Saints, they better get healthy quickly.
The Titans may be struggling to pair together a good defensive performance and a good offensive performance on the same Sunday, but they're ballin' out on special teams week in and week out.

The optimist in me looks at their road losses.
But that offense is just so high-octane with a killer TE. And our offense definitely isn’t good enough to keep up. If you read the “Ask the Saints” Fanpost here, the guy said the best way to get to Brees is with a four man rush as he will burn you if you blitz…in related news, our four-man rush sucks at worst, is inconsistent at best.

Also my main concern is that I don't see any possible way we can score enough points to stay with them.
Even if our defense plays well, they could still put up 30 points. And our offense isn’t exactly the second coming the ’07 Patriots.

Oh no, there's no way we can get in, much less win, a shootout.
I think our best bet is to play the “bend but don’t break” defense and limit them to field goals as much as possible, and then hope that CJ goes off and we can do some ball-control stuff on offense. Keep Brees off the field should be the goal on both sides of the ball.

In a dome, on turf, to a bad football team… I have a feeling that was a glitch, though. They’ll get up for this one and be ready to play. At least it’s an uncommon opponent, and in our house. When we have the ball I think we will be in better shape than people think, Hasselbeck absolutely picked apart G. Williams defense in the NFC Wild Card round last year, he can do it again. The Saints sold out on the run to stop Marshawn Lynch (who they couldn’t tackle) and it was death by paper-cut for Hasselhoff and company. However we won’t be able to score 40, which is what it might take unfortunately… Gram should have a HUGE day against our LB’s…
The Titans "glitched" the Ravens so maybe that can come up with another one

Way different challenge on deck for this one though...
It’s late in the year, the Saints are hot, & they’ve been champs recently, they know they can’t take their foot off the gas. Besides; the Ravens offense, esp. their passing game, is elementary when compared to the Saints. We were able to shut down Baltimore when they had the ball, and on offense we had to make just enough plays in the passing game to give us a chance to win, this game is different. Running the ball and protecting the ball will be a necessity against NO, and we are gonna have to keep them out of the end-zone & force a couple turnovers, and score off of those turnovers…
Maybe we should finally bust out the 1-11 defense?

Hasselbeck is easily the best Titans QB since # 9....
After the Jacksonville shit storm him and Kenny Britt (T.O. with better hands) carried the entire offense. Then KB went down who they were tailoring their offense around and he still has found ways to make enough plays to win games. Nate Washington is his best receiver right now, Nate F****** Washington! I’m telling you if KB wouldn’t have torn his knee to shreds, Hasselbeck would be one of the hottest QB’s in the league right now, especially now that we can run the ball…. Without him, this offense would be F.U.B.A.R.

MAC-9 had some playmakers ~ Britt is a BEAST, but N. Washington & D-WiIl aren’t near as good as Mason was in his prime, and J. Cook doesn’t deserve to hold Frank Wycheck’s jock strap, let alone wear #89…. Wycheck was a versatile TE who could block AND catch the football… Cook is a vastly over-rated (on MCM anyways) physical freak who has shown some flashes of greatness that are few and far between…
Obviously the gameplan has to be to keep the ball out of Brees's hands with a consistent run game.
Earlier in the season I’d be terrified that that had to be done, but recently we’re getting our shit together, so it’s doable.
There probably isn’t any way we’re stopping their passing attack all game, but limiting the big plays to burn off more clock is doable I would think (as long as they don’t run a playaction….GRIFFFFFFFFFFFF >_>).

i think Mariani has been a great returner since last year ... you can tell he is honing the craft
And he doesn’t take many risks … which I’m fine with on special teams, no need to risk fumbling a ball when you’re most likely getting leveled at the 10 yard line. I think 90% of the time he takes it out of the endzone he knows he’s going to at least make it past the 20.
It’s a nice combination of good coaching, good decision making and a fucktastic mustache.

International prospects are gems though
They always find them late and players are willing to go there. This is especially true with Russians and Swedes that are willing to stay in the KHL or Sweden’s league (can’t remember the name off the top of my head) if a team other than the Caps or Wings drafts them just because of the Russian and Swedish influence on the clubs.

Same here, they had to be... my best friends family was all from Michigan

All it takes is Phoenix moving to Quebec City next year and everything's perfect.

its really one of the dumbest ideas ive ever seen in sports. i cant believe it passed. how exactly did they decide on throwing two florida teams in with the northeast? how exactly did they decide itd be fun to always play the same teams in the playoffs every year. im dumbfounded by this whole thing.
Why not get rid of two teams instead?
