Titans QB Matt Hasselbeck Returns to Practice
Matt Hasselbeck was a limited participant in practice today according to the Titans' beat writers. Hasselbeck said after practice that he did more than he expected today and hopes to be able to play. He also made the point that it is only his scrambling that would be limited, and that is not something he does much of anyway.
It sure sounds like Hasselbeck is trying to sell himself as the starter because he said that it is better if you do not scramble against the Colts because Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis chase down guys who run and force turnovers according to John Glennon.
Mike Munchak said after practice that he is expecting Hasselbeck to play and hoping that he can take a little bit more than half of the reps tomorrow.
In other practice notes, Jake Locker was a full participant in practice today. Nate Washington, William Hayes and Gerald McRath did not practice. Coach Munchak said that Washington should practice tomorrow.

Interesting.
Seems like Locker and Hasselbeck and sort of competing to start this week. Hope this is how it’s like next offseason.
The way it should be

I'm really hoping
we can have a year of Locker starting and Hasslebeck assisting / backing up before Hasslebeck is outta here.
I am sure that is how it will play out.

They both seem extremely supportive of each other.

Really?
I’m pretty sure your suppose to release your veteran starter a week before the season starts and make the only other non rookie QB as your stater until the rookie is ready by week 3 of the season…No???
USC > UT (Both of them)
Maybe in CandyLand, but not in the NFL...
your math adds up to having no starter until week 3…?

And somehow, we still lost to the Jaguars.

"Do the Titans have a miracle left in them in what has been a magical season to this point? If they do, they need it now. Christie kicks it high and short. Gonna be fielded by Lorenzo Neal at the 25; he dishes it back to Wycheck; he throws it across the field to Dyson. 30, 40, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10, 5, endzone...touchdown, Titans! There are no flags on the field! It's a miracle! Tennessee has pulled a miracle! A miracle for the Titans!"

Weren't Freeney and Mathis both non-participants in practice yesterday?
And is this going to be the trend with Nate for the rest of the year?
Aggravates the ankle late in the 4th quarter, practices Friday, plays in the game, repeat.

Freeney's was non-injury related.
Mathis is nursing a knee injury.

what are the chances he can re-injure his calf
and does that play into who starts against a win-less team.
USC > UT (Both of them)
This is killing me.
I’m the number 1 seed in the 2nd round of the playoffs of a 2 QB, 12 team league.
For my 2nd quarterback, I have either Gabbert, Orlovsky, or Locker to choose from. Locker is the obvious choice if he plays, but if he doesn’t, my fantasy team is in a tough spot…

If you don't pick Locker, then pick Orlovsky.
Locker > Orlovsky > My Left Foot > Gabbert
[disclaimer: this poster has no idea what the hell he's talking about.]
The future is bright for this Titans squad.

Gabbert actually had a decent game last week.
But yeah, for the most part he’s been terrible.

Correction
Locker > Orlovsky > Your Left Foot > My 3 Month Old Daughter > Donnie Nickey > Kerry Collins > Gabbert
Locker has a receiver either side;
Locker fumbles the snap;
Picks it up, sprints out to the right;
Looking;
Fires deep downfield
MAN IS WIDE OPEN!!
TOUCHDOWWWWWN TITANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When referring to "My Left Foot"
Are you referring to the movie or your physical left foot? I think both are better than Gabbert, but I want to remove any ambiguity that might exist…

Here we go being the dumb ole Titans again........
Just play Locker! Why would we rather play a hurt QB than a Rookie that has already proven he can go win us the ball game? We gonna risk getting beat by a damn team that hasn’t won a game all season!
