My Love For The Hawk Is No More

Lavelle Hawkins. I just want to take this opportunity to say goodbye. No not from the team, but from my heart. It was a fun ride. No, lets be honest, there were quite a few bumps. But dammit we did it together. Many questioned our relationship, but we got through it by singing the song of a generation "HATERS GONNA HATE!" .

I want you to know this has nothing to do with your performance on the field. You are having your best season yet and have made quite a few plays like i knew you could. You are most definitely NOT our worst receiver.

But as the season draws to an end, i can't help but feel our fling has gone stale. The spark is with another.

That's right. Nate Washington. I will always love you Hawk, but i have never in my 20 years on this planet witnessed such drive, such heart, such passion, from a receiver in Titan blue.

What i saw on Sunday was a man give his all. Not for his stats, or to make ESPN top 10 plays. But for the good of the team. With pain running through his body he picked himself up and played. That's something i can not help but love.

So hawk, whether you're here next season or not, it will have to be without me leading your fanclub. Because ive fallen for another. So let me give you one more CAW CAW!! for old times sake and move on.

Don’t want any soft players from them OR the Patriots, we want blue collar guys with heart like Washington. but the Hawk did make a few good plays last week, maybe we shouldn’t expect to have Desean Friggin Jackson and give the Hawk fewer expectations… He doesn’t suck, he’s just REALLY inconsistent

Anybody remember Cortland Finnegan getting into it with Nate in the few practices and OTAs/Training camp before the season started?

He was saying that Nate needed to quit being so soft, if I remembered correctly. Anybody think Cortland has helped Nate at all? I most certainly do!

But... in years past he just always seemed soft... and do you not remember the look on his face in the 09' Cardinal game, the exact play before Kenny Britt's amazing TD to win the game?

He had a clear shot to get the ball, and he was to pansy to go get it. He then cried, by the look of his face, to the refs because he thought it was ’’interference’’… He was soft, plain and simple.
