How can we be +2 in TO?
Hasslebeck has 8 TD’s to three pics, and Ringer has a TD. We’ve had four fumbles?
"Munchak was just asked why we went for it instead of kicking the field goal: ’ I don’t want to be the same 3 point team we used to be.’"....WE WIN
TO is based on interceptions/fumbles for vs against.
Not TDs

ha jackass moment
my bad had a brain vessel pop or something
"Munchak was just asked why we went for it instead of kicking the field goal: ’ I don’t want to be the same 3 point team we used to be.’"....WE WIN
as I hit post I remembered that was the case
for some reason I was thinking about TO’s verse TD ratio which is also a telling ratio for a team. I think we’re doing pretty well in both categories, but we should be better then +2. Hopefully Big Ben and the -10 can help us out a little.
"Munchak was just asked why we went for it instead of kicking the field goal: ’ I don’t want to be the same 3 point team we used to be.’"....WE WIN
Pretty even statistical match
We have the edge in QB and they have it in receivers (which you’d expect comparing a #1 to a #2). Everything else is even except turnovers which are strongly in our favour but IIRC they turned it over 7 times against the Ravens so that may be deceptive. Factor in the home field advantage and the 6.5 point underdog doesn’t look like quite the insult I felt it to be at ;first glance. That said, this is very much a game the Titans can win IMHO; some key Steeler injuries aren’t reflected in the history and our defensive edge may be better than these parameters suggest. If Hasselbeck continues to get excellent protection and CJ continues to improve we can score on these guys.
Too soon to be talking about a Superbowl? Ummm... Ok
Lordy, lordy
How I do hate the Steelers, yes I do,
Hates ‘em so much I could just poo,
I realize that’ll make a mess just foul,
but I have this handy yellow and black towel.
Yeah, I’m not quitting my day job. Hey, on another note, do you guys realize that our offense is still dangerous without CJ and Britt? Huh? How the heck did that happen? Am I in some alternate universe?
I liked the part about poo.
I had a signature here, but it got sacked by Karl Klug.

A reply
I understand your hatred I do,
But let me pose one question of you,
What if this poo is not so foul?
This would not befit your plans for that towel.
May I suggest a secondary plan?
Fill Big Ben’s helmet with this BM so bland.
Surely this will disrupt his vision plane,
And further compound his shit for brains!
God I hope we beat the steelers…

nicely done
Steelers, Patriots, Chargers, Ravens, Jets. My least favorite teams in the NFL. Weird how none of the teams in our current division get under my skin.
I have the sincerest hatred of the Colts
Then I hate the Jags when they’re an ok team that everybody crowns as a great team… a lot like the Texans this year.

Steelers, Ravens, Cowboys, and Texans for me
I’ll give the Colts a break this year out of pity. Unless they get Luck. Then, fuck em.

I just woke up and the Titans were in my dreams
And it wasn’t good. In my dream I was watching the game at this bar with some friends and the Titans were completely imploding on offense. Two pick-sixes, a safety, and a blocked punt had us down 23-6 at halftime… after that I had another dream or just woke up.. can’t really tell.
I guess Freud would say that this is just a manifestation of my subconscious fears that this team could blow up at any time. I certainly hope my subconscious is wrong.

Why do I hate the Steelers?
Because here is a guy complaining about James Harrison getting hit in the head during a block. James Harrison! And on a block that he very obviously saw coming!
This game is probably not as important as next week’s game, but still, just for sheer STFU value, this is a game that the Titans desperately need to win.

In James Harrison's defense he seems pretty upbeat about the injury
He was talking on his twitter like “yeah dude totally wasn’t a concussion, friggin helmet messed up my eye no biggie” (sorta paraphrasing, especially since Harrison doesn’t talk like a surfer) but really dude, that injury sounds like you might lose your friggin eyeball if you’re not careful… The guy is tough we gotta give him that much

I've have fractured my orbital bone before and it is no joke...
it feels like your entire skull is broken 24 hours a day (which is kinda is) as a result I had a sinus cavity collapse as well, which I still have problems with to this day. This is a really really shitty injury because there is nothing you can really do but heal with time.

oh wow
how is that man so friggin optimistic about that injury, i jammed my tooth into my face before (and suffered a mild concussion) and i seriously thought the swelling wouldn’t go down and i’d look like a freak, and the pain alone was enough to make me scream (until i got put on meds) I have always respected NFL players, but i respect Harrison just a lil bit more, hope he returns onto the field soon (if it’s against us, hope we pummel him into the ground lol)

It is possible--and, in fact, easy--to respect a player but dislike his fans.

Pros vs. Cons
Things to look forward to:
Hopefully Big Ben’s mobility is a little limited. I think that D-Line is licking it’s chops to hit the QB, whether it be Roethlesberger or Dixon.
James Harrison is definitely out, so that’s the good news.
Matty Iceberg is on a role, and Nate Washington should be motivated to go against his old squad. I expect those two to be factors
Jared Cook…see what you did the Scott Fujita last week? Do the same thing again if they keep trying to match LBs on you
Things to be afraid of:
Chris Johnson never runs well against the Steelers. I think I read somewhere that the Titans average 83 yards a game against them since he was drafted. That’s not near enough. CJ has got to top 100 again if we’re going to win.
All because Harrison is out, that doesn’t mean Lawrence Timmons can’t ball. Timmons has played against us before, and wrecked havoc.
Mike Wallace: The guy is a speedster and averages 18 yards a catch. Who matches up against him? Finnegan normally would I’d imagine, but when we go in the nickle, then who? McCourty? Verner? Who you gonna go with? Whoever it is, Griffin and Babineaux better be ready to help over the top.
Things to contemplate:
Does anyone know the extent of the injury to Craig Stevens? He’s slowly turning into one of my favorite players, as a guy who can do it all.
Best matchup:
For me, it’s going to be Michael Roos and David Stewart against whoever is blitzing for Pittsburgh. I believe that will determine the game.
Prediction:
Titans 21- Steelers 20
Optimism prevails!
