Titans vs. Steelers: James Harrison Out For Sunday's Game

PrintMike Tomlin announced in his press conference today that James Harrison will not play in Sunday's game between the Titans and Steelers. Harrison will undergo surgery Wednesday on a fractured right orbital eye socket and miss a number of weeks.
This news obviously makes the game a little easier for the Titans, but keep in mind that the Titans had the Steelers at home last year with Dennis Dixon/Charlie Batch at quarterback and couldn't win. I know a lot of the circumstances are different, but the Titans are going to have to play well to win this game.
Tomlin also said that he expects Ben Roethlisberger to play in this game. It turns out that his foot is only sprained, and considering he played with a broken foot last year I would say he is a lock to play.
The Steelers will also probably be without Rashard Mendenhall Sunday who is suffering from a hamstring injury.

I always want a team to field their best team for us to play and win

… do I disagree with way football is turning into flag-football and his ‘off the top of his head’ fines he produces? of course.
I think he takes a lot of heat for things that aren’t necessarily his fault though

But he is doing what he thinks is right, and its really the owners who change the rules, but he should at least tell them its completely knocking out defense from the game. But he acts for their best interests, its a crappy situation all around, he makes the game lame with his rules and the players hate him, but he Is trying to help them.
Now his readiness to suspend on a moments notice really pisses me off, but as of late its only gotten to one of our players so far so meh

The steelers have in the past pulled some wins out of their buttholes, so even with a subpar team this coaching staff can still win one, they are smarter than other cheating coaches who needs practice tape to be hailed a genius

there’s a difference between “hurt” and “injure”. hard hits fall into the “hurt” category. if you’re a football player and you’re not going out there to hurt someone, you’re doing it wrong.

all I see is a guy putting a shot on these dudes and a low hit on Scaife. you don’t go in saying “yeah, let’s just give this guy a concussion or tear this guys ACL.” shit happens, it’s a violent sport. Vince hit is the only one I see that’s really questionable. H2H is overrated, it happens all the time and sometimes it’s just unavoidable.

His arms were barely even out to make the tackle on Carter!
and a low hit is an intent to injure in this case.
and yes, the VY play is a dirty hit.
You and I both play (have played) the sport and if you were hit or saw someone on your team get hit like any one of these, you’d be calling for his head instead of saying “well… that was a good hit”

since when do you need arms to tackle? launching yourself, especially low, is effective if done right. if you get a chance to really ring someone’s bell, you take it by absolutely destroying them and make sure they’re feeling it every time they come across the middle, not form tackling them. that’s the game.

were not much worse than the Titans’ QBs last year. I regretted buying tickets to last year’s game. This game shuold be much better.

If you are using Firefox, everything I am finding is saying clear the cache
Clear your cache. Tools —> Options —> Advanced —> Network, Clear Now button.

Well according to Tomlin, they're shifting Timmons to Harrison's spot
and starting Larry Foote in place of Timmons.
That plus the abysmal play of the Steelers offensive line coupled with KLUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUG makes me smile.

Hood was a 1st round draft pick
32nd overall in 2009. He was a monster at Mizzou so he is probably a capable backup, though I don’t know what he’s done to this point in his career really.

All these injuries to the Steelers are going to end up hurting us if we win a tigh game.
The only way people will look at us as a very good team is if we put a beating on them like the Ravens did. The Texans only beat them by 7 and some people arent giving them credit because of it. Do get the respect we deserve we need to blow them out at their own house, us scoring less that 27 will not be good enough.

but this isnt about power rankings. This is about everyone saying that we are just getting lucky, most people I’ve heard think that the Titans that player week 1 are the real Titans and that these past 3 weeks have just been luck.
Week 2 – Ravens were still enjoying the week 1 win.

Bad part is, the way Hass has been playing this year, he plays with a somewhat similar skillset I had with Young, Good deep ball, and disecting defenses with the short passes… also the screen game with CJ is unstoppable (crosses fingers for next week)

Hass is significantly more accurate then Vunce ever was in Madden
obviously doesn’t have the same mobility, but isn’t a statue like Cocktail was.
I think I have 33TDs 10INTs at the 10th game of my franchise right now, not bad. On the other hand, with Vunce last year… I had like 50+ TDs at this point.
I’m leaving Locker on the bench until next year because it’s suppose to raise his stats if he’s a Future Franchise QB… we’ll see.

So I always used to go with these long drives downfield on All madden, which is pretty hard to do, but when Cocktail went in (cuz Vunce did get injured regularly) he made me look like crap, i started cutting him every year because i just couldn’t control him

Teaching Locker the things that makes Hass great, how to win when you are not suppose to, how to be a QB in the NFL, how to play like an elite when everyone is telling you you’re done. Regardless how this season ends up, Hass has made me a full-time believer.

Hey Titans fans, Steeler fan here
Just so you know, Lawrence Timmons, our usual MLB is going to start in Harrisons place at ROLB, Woodley at LOLB, with Farrior and Foote the MLBs
Basically meaning, Timmons should generate a good amount of pass rush (not in Harrisons league though), and you should have no problem running up the middle with Foote and Farrior playing :( Both were horrid slow last week.
Ziggy Hood has been great at times and frustrating at times, but with Keisel back our defense should be a bit better. Aaron Smith is another one of our guys showing his age this season
