Big Play Babs caught everyone's eye from his first preseason game, and he's continued to make plays and avoid the big mistakes ever since. Now that Chris Hope will be out for 6-8 weeks - and Munchak sounds like he's leaving the door open for Babs to keep starting when Hope is healthy - he has the chance to be the veteran presence next to Griffin that we have been hoping for since Hope's play started to decline.
The NFL has a survey up on whether or not they should post coach's view game tape online. Please go vote yes on this survey. Please, please help make this happen.
Craig Stevens suffered some cartilage damage to his ribs on Sunday. The injury isn't expected to force him to miss Sunday's game, but the shear level of pain involved is going to be hard to ignore. My guess is that it'll affect his pass catching more than his blocking, so Jared Cook is the logical choice to step up there. Leroy Harris could also be less than 100% on Sunday as well. If that's the case, I hope to hell they start Velasco over a limited version of our most limited lineman.
The Sarge is back! Wyatt expects that Ahmard Hall's return will signal the end of the road for Quinn Johnson, who struggled to stand out in his first four games, outside of his one big 4th down catch. Hopefully Hall's blocking will make a big difference for Chris Johnson.
The Titans have honored the memory of Mike Heimerdinger by lowering the Titans flag outside Baptist Sports Park to half-staff. I'm sure the next home game in two weeks against the Texans will feature a prominent ceremony to honor Dinger.
I was born and raised in the Nashville area in a house that was surrounded by farmland, so I think I have enough cover to say this: why is anyone surprised that an old, drunk redneck said the kinds of things almost every old, drunk redneck says? PFF takes apart the Steelers failings that led to the loss on Sunday. If the Steelers have these same problems with protections this week, then the Titans could be looking at a golden shot to steal a win from a team that's been a thorn in our sides lately.
Mocking the Draft notes that the Eagles should be looking upon our picks of Akeem Ayers and Jurrell Casey with envy. It's a good point, though I can't see any line coached by Jim Washburn adding a huge run stuffer like Casey.
Looks like the West household will be watching he Puppy Bowl at halftime of the Super Bowl again this year. Though, with the pending return of Bevis and Butthead I'm secretly hoping MTV brings back their old halftime show...

i hate the white pants too......
glad we went to light blue pants withthe road unis. looks so much better. wish we had a light blue or navy helmet too. i would also modify the jersey slightly so the sleeves are fully the contratsing color instead of 1/2 contrast color/ 1/2 jersey color.

According to Tomlin in his press conference a few minutes ago.......
He said that James Harrison is going to be out for several weeks due to surgery to repair a broken orbital eye bone suffered against Houston. As for Big Ben, Tomlin says he expects him to start the week off slow and be ready, even though not at full strength for the Titan game.

Ayers is a beast. He’s not flowing to the ball in pass coverage the way I think he can, but the real knock on the guy was always his consistency tackling. Really his toughness was in question a lot before the draft, which is why he fell to us (yess!!). He’s been knocking heads and has been consistent for a second round pick with no offseason starting day one at OLB in a 4-3 blitz scheme. I hope soon it’s Ayers and Spoon in nickel instead of Ruud if he doesn’t step it up.

I’m in his corner. He owned a run-down windowless bar in PC proper (PC, but not the beach) which was on the bay, served cheap beer, and never judged how late you stayed there! He even frequented the establishment on occassion. Good times.
