Titans 31 Browns 13: Grading the Rush Defense
The Titans were really good against the Browns rush attack on Sunday. They held their running backs, Peyton Hillis and Montario Hardesty, to 68 total yards. A lot of that had to do with the fact that the Titans were able to get a lead in the game, but the longest run from one of the backs was 10 yards. I give them a B+ for the day.
My favorite play of the day came when Cleveland tried to run a throwback pass and Karl Klug caught Joshua Cribbs from behind. That was awesome.
I am excited about the progress this team has made against the run since week 1 when they gave up a bunch of yards to the Jaguars. If they can continue to force teams into 2nd and 3rd and long situations, we might just be talking about them as one of the best defenses in the league.
There is still a lot of football to be played, but it looks like the Titans have a formidable defense for the first time since Jim Schwartz left.

They were decent against the run
But I’d say take the stats with a grain of salt. They had to abandon the run. I don’t have the stats on hand, but I’d be interested to see their YPC. It seemed like we were having some trouble Hillis.
"Do the Titans have a miracle left in them in what has been a magical season to this point? If they do, they need it now. Christie kicks it high and short. Gonna be fielded by Lorenzo Neal at the 25; he dishes it back to Wycheck; he throws it across the field to Dyson. 30, 40, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10, 5, endzone...touchdown, Titans! There are no flags on the field! It's a miracle! Tennessee has pulled a miracle! A miracle for the Titans!"

Idk
I think if that game was close, they could have run all over us.
I am still skeptical about our run defense...
but I have to agree on the Klug play. That kid just never quits, I love watching him play.
