Madden NFL 12 Roster Update #7 Details

The latest roster update for Madden NFL 12 follows week five of the season is scheduled to release Friday for the Xbox 360 and PS3. The Texans take a hit with the loss of Mario Williams – but do upgrade their WR depth having acquired Derrick Mason from the Jets. The trade of Aaron Curry to the Raiders was made too late to make it in this update.

Seahawks undrafted rookie FA receiver Doug Baldwin moves up 8 points to 70 – which represents an increase of 22 points from the 48 rating he had when first added to the game. Bills RB Fred Jackson has cracked 90 as he moves up 4 points, Champ Bailey has inched up to 98, and Calvin Johnson moves up again and is now 97. Tim Tebow becomes the starter in this update as he replaces Kyle Orton who also took a hit of 3 points to his rating.

Team wise there were a couple huge winners and losers. The 49ers net the biggest gain of players going up vs down (+12) followed by the Lions (+9). Heading the opposite direction are the Eagles (-7), Buccaneers (-4), and Jets (-3).

Continue on for all the transactions and ratings adjustments made in the upcoming Madden NFL 12 roster update and as always leave any thoughts in the comments!

Titans Take (this is not going to be a good one... our dog decided to throw up in our bed last night at 1:30am for the second night in a row AND my girlfriend didn't make any coffee this morning before leaving for work, so watch out...)
SCREW YOU F-ING MADDEN!!!!!!!!1
Right out the Gate. F.You.Everyone at EA.

We had 3 increases and 3 decreases as well. Granted this was a terrible game, they are completely not consistent with their ratings.
First with the decreases:
Chris Johnson - moves down to a 93 from a 94... it wasn't his best game, but he is finding his wheels and FINALLY scores his first TD... so naturally they move him down a point. why not?
Will Witherspoon - moves down from a 84 to a 83... I don't know how this is warranted at all. He's been solid all year. Ruud on the other hand stays at his nice 89 spot...WTF?
Mr. Griff. - moves down from a 91 to a 88... yes, this was a terrible game for him, but a 3 point drop?? no. just no.

Increase were definitely deserved:
C-Finn. - finally got a boost from a 92 to a 93, should have happened a while ago.
Dwill - goes from a 67 to a 70. meh? I am not going to really argue that because a 70 is still pretty terrible.
ATV - gets a bump up from 78 to 79. He should be much higher. Our Corners are playing on another level right now.

since Madden loves those big money markets Pit. after a few awful games, comes out and plays some solid football but they are non deserving of the 7 person increase. We play some great football for the last few weeks and we get a few here-and-there bumps up... Pit plays one good game and they are ready to hand them the Super Bowl rings already. F- You Madden.

Can any of you Madden 12 guys tell me...

Is the offseason system improved over 11? I cannot stand trying to re-sign guys and sign FAs because there is basically no gauge as to whether your numbers are in the ballpark and contract demands are ludicrous; backup tackles wanting over $3 million a year and so forth. Has this been improved at all for 12? I’m not getting it if not, I love that stuff moreso than playing the games and demand realism!!!!11

Banned from Stampede Blue for comments made on MCM. Yes, I am a champion.

Yeah the re-signing are a lot better/ more realistic

I know last year Ball(sack) wanted like 32 mil to be re-signed WTF?!
I am glad they fixed it, but do not understand why it took a new edition to come out for that to be fixed.

You have been banned from Stampede Blue.

wehn it comes to FA it kinda sucks.

because you have 60 seconds to sign guys so you dont get to look through the players and mark them as targets and then go into the bidding war with the other teams. I wish they would fix that for next year.

Press "Y" or whatever the list of your team positions are after the bidding begins

And it will freeze the clock so that you have time to find all your players

It's all fun and games until someone gets a concussion from a stray flying footbal. *cough* Kerry *cough*

And meanwhile, all but one player gets an increase on the Steelers.

I had a signature here, but it got sacked by Karl Klug.

I enjoy this. Thank you. I didn’t buy this Madden because they didn’t get the new pay stuff for franchise on it (due to the length of the Lockout…ugh) but I still enjoy seeing these ratings.

Keep on keepin’ on.

P.S. Sucks about the dog puke. Good luck with the coffee.

Thanks!

it’s kind of cool seeing how the outside world views are team as well, but EA is starting to really piss me off with these ratings.

Has Tennesse had a good Madden team since 2000??

I mean come on man!!!! wtf!!!
but anyways, The FO mode pisses me off a tad, the CPU totally disregarded half the moves i made and now i have to play with Locker earlier than i wanted to

Yeah, that was suppose to be improved too (better progression on players depending on their last season)

I threw 64TDs and ran in 12TDs with Locker last season and he went up to a 78… wtf?

I played Locker the first two games of the season and the 2 playoff games before the super bowl

He sat mostly and i got him at 80… shoulda played Hasselhoff, woulda turned out better…
OH AND THE SCOUTING STRAIGHT UP SUCKS!!! At pick 32 I got ONE of the players i scouted, and they have no combine numbers or nothing, just what they may potentially be good at.. they need to fix that ASAP!!!

I found a list of how the rookies will scout out and what their ratings will be after they are drafted

… but it’s on my other computer. I will post it later tonight for anyone that wants it.

Here is the rookie ratings guide:

Madden 12 Rookie Rating Guide
Here are some instructions on how to use it…

Using the guide this year is a little bit more complicated due to the randomization of player names, but we’ve tried to make it as quick and easy as possible to identify which draft class you have.

To find which draft class you have in your franchise, go to the Scouting menu (note: must be in regular season) and change the view from All to Punters. Look at the School, Height, Weight and Round of the top punter (sometimes varies) and match it up with an entry below. Each entry is accompanied by a number that represents a page the draft class is documented.

Please note that the “Projected” field (or PRJ RND below) is exclusive to offline franchise only and has no bearing on online franchise. Likewise, the Online Franchise Draft Year column below is simply matching up the order of the online drafts to the corresponding offline draft classes and has no bearing on offline franchise.

Also note that there are now Undrafted Free Agents that appear during training camp and pre-season. These players are not included in this guide since they are not part of the NFL draft in franchise mode and appear to be completely random. This only applies to Offline Franchise.

This definitely helps out in franchise mode trying to figure out which rookies will succeed, seeing how as the post season ‘scouting’ isn’t worth shit.

its balancing Pratt

just because you play on rookie, with sliders favored to you doesn’t mean your players should go up that much

and I still put up God-like numbers. I don’t mess around with sliders

I play on All pro

I can’t pass too much without throwing 5 ints a game, so my numbers usually look like CJ with 2150 yards rushing a season, (whoever the QB) 25-30 passing tds and about 2500 yards, but on defense C-Finny get’s about like 4 picks a season with about 15 sacks

I started off rough in All-Pro, but slant routes are your best friend

along with CJs ability really opens up the safeties pretty much showing you the play before the ball is hiked.

When i pass its more like to the slots

unless you know someone is in zone and you can hit an outside WR for about 20 yards.

But deep crosses, are great.

Did you see my running plays strategy i put up a while ago?

if not i’ll copy and paste it here, it really helps

sometimes yes when im in nickel

But others i pick D-morg and finny just flys through unblocked… it’s crazy, i mean after ten sacks you should know corner blitz is coming 7-10 plays

I need to draft a corner with abilities like his though it's uncanny

Every game he get’s a sack, he was all over A-rod in the super bowl too…
but, on offense my best plays are the verticals with Kenny and Cook, it’s like they never cover the middle of the field… but sometimes they do and that’s when i get picked… those are the plays i don’t expect them to either

yeah, but Court be stealing his sacks sometimes

I get free with morg and forget i sent Cort on a blitz and Corts there before i even set my sights on the QB… That C-Finny in the NB move was the best move this staff has ever done for my madden game ever (wish i tried this earlier)

i'm just playing, i play on all pro

because that what its set for online play.

But i play as DEs most of the time and then DTs, and then LBs, so i might get 10 sacks with 5 of the D-Linemen, power moves are your friends .

Wow cant believe Madden put that whole new rule about all scoring plays being reviewed.

I had a fumble recover and return for TD taken away because it went to the booth being a scoring play reversed.

And I was able to blow out the Colts… (with Manning mind you, C-Finny on a blitz is unstoppable!!)

I just play base D. I dont like messes with people in spots.

The only sub i have is Harper is in for my goal line set.

I can't do base D

too many mismatches in the 3-5 WR sets, I at least need a corner who can make plays all over, plus I like playing it like the real team… somewhat, i still am playing Fisherball, but on Madden Fisherball=321 rush yards in a game
