A Call to Sanity.

We have been through one hell of an offseason here in Titan land, definitely one of the most tumultuous in recent NFL history. Emotions have been heated for everyone (myself included, I'm no saint here), arguments extended beyond the Titans/football to personal attacks, and rational discussion degrading into petty name calling. I would love nothing more than to see that end now that we have closure on the first era of Tennessee Titans football.

Let's put an end to the petty debate over whether a coach was secretly conspiring to ruin the career of the franchise quarterback he was tied to. Let's put an end to arguing over a legacy that will not be determined for several, if not many, years. Let's put an end to bashing a head coach who, while he may not have been getting the job done on-the-field in recent years, put this franchise on the map and brought the NFL to Nashville in the first place and became the face of the franchise through some of their darkest years.

Let's end arguing over a quarterback who has had good moments and bad when it has already been announced by senior management that he will not be back.

Now is not the time to dwell on/in the past. We can look back and reminisce and discuss the legacy of both men, but now is the time to look towards the future and a new, perhaps uncertain era of Titans football. Now is the time for us to all be TITANS fans and not "Jeff Fisher backers" or "Vince Young haters"; rather, we should support the two-toned blue and the franchise we love. Players and coaches come and go, but the Titans will always be there.

Signed,

A Diehard Titans Fan
