Call me crazy but...
Okay, call me crazy but if the Titans managed to trade down in the draft from their number 8 position now, would it or would it not be a great idea to pick up Mark Ingram. Yes I realize last year our defensed sucked, yes I realize we have the best running back in the NFL, but Ingram is a more athletic Lendale White, and we all saw what happened when White and CJ were in the backfield together.
I think Ingram could definately boost our offense. I wouldnt want the Titans to pick him up at 8 but if they traded down and got him late in the first or early second (even though he might not even be there then). We were all yelling at our TV sets when we drafted CJ because we "already had good running backs" and i think Ingram could have the same "CJ" effect. Thoughts? Opinins?
And a little highlight reel to get you excited

I would be upset with the Ingram pick.
I think he’ll be good, but there are so many other holes to fill, and RB is the least of our worries. I like the CJ and Ringer 1-2 depth chart, and perhaps Stafon Johnson will grab the third spot.

i thought stafon looked pretty good
before that devastating injury
but if anyone can come back strong from an injury its stafon johnson..man’s got a heart of steel
I officially don't care who's on the Titans anymore, i just want a Super Bowl.
and just in case
he’s suing USC just in case he doesn’t pan out.
i hope he does tho

Most Mocks have Ingram going mid first
I don’ think he’s worth targeting for instance if we trade down lets say in a imaginary trade with the Pats for 17 and 33. While it would be wonderful we have too many needs and imagine how pissed CJ will be when Ingram makes more money than him based off of draft position.

I'd think everyone would be on board with this since everone wants to trade CJ.

Who "wants" to trade CJ?
You know there is a difference between “want to” and “would be fine with it if we could get something that would be worth our while” right? Or are you just being a jerk?

Gotta agree with this.
There is a difference between wanting to trade him and getting a deal that’s too good to pass up.

Everyone seems to think hes immediately replaceable.
So i see no difference.

Well, for the record
I don’t think CJ is “replaceable.”
I think that you don’t win it all in the NFL when you design your offense around your running back. The running game is not as important as the passing game.
I am not anti-CJ, but I would give him up for a stud quarterback.

Yep
What did CJ’s 2,000 yards get us?

Do you think the Titans should have kept Blount?

i really just wanted to stir up old arguments that bother you
do you think ringer would have rushed for 1000 yards with the Bucs? I don’t

How do we know he is a better blocker/catcher…preseason?

RBs are most definitely replaceable

Nope.
A) We have CJ.
B) Much more pressing needs to take care of.
C) RBs can be found later in draft, or in FA. I’m still of the opinion that Ringer is a capable back up.

We've had five-game losing streaks for twelve years now...and in no way is that depressing.

We will have 3 RB's next year.
Ringer, Stafon Johnson, and Alvin Pearman. ha jk.
CJ, Ringer, Stafon Johnson.
cant wait to see SJ come back from the injury and shock the preseason world. lol.

If the purpose of this pick would be to get a big RB
Then I’d wait till the 4th or so and draft Wisconsin RB John Clay.
Go Vols! Go Titans! Go My Fantasy Team!
no way jose
at the pro level i don’t think he’ll be much better than ringer if ringer was given a shot. pass.
Too many needs on the defense and QB to waste the pick on Ingram
Picking Ingram would be a waste of a pick when we have much more pressing issues than RB
Oh hai MCM
I see the logic
And in a few years when we have less gaping holes then we do this will be a smart move. But we can find a good running in later rounds/later drafts. Right now defense is too big of a concern. Not that I’m against trading down, but if the Titan’s do, I think they need to do it to invest in more need picks, not depth.
My last two signatures were about Vince Young and Rusty Smith. I'm sure as hell not giving Collins room down here. So this will be my signature until the Titans show me something signature worthy.
But I digress, GO TITANS!
I'm all for QB's drive this league...
BUT why would we trade Lightspeed 28, The 2k season was awesome, he had keg stand kerry the first half of the season. When we were blanked in New England (shudder) he still had a 100 yards. This guy is special, if we just had a QB who could throw it short, and deep to Kenny we’ll be okay. We need a guy who can read the defense not just some scrub, if we ever traded CJ we would regret it for ever.
