New Vikings QB coach puts in plug for Vince Young
''Quoting what Steve said, has Vince been a winning quarterback in this league? Yes.''
He sees something in VY since working with him. Maybe with with all things considered and knowing what we know now, the QB/VY wasn't exactly the problem...
I have a feeling we will regret this.

I read this last night
And having lived 6 year in North Dakota which is Vikings country I can and will say this! Vince Young Best grow up if he goes to the Vikings.
There’s no southern charm up there and those fans are/will be tougher then the Titans fans could ever be.
Jeff Fisher, Bud Adams..................

The Vikes have a strong team but if I'm Leslie Frazier I wouldn't gamble on Vince.
They can be really competitive with Vince, but until he studies more I don’t think he’ll be winning rings anytime soon. In fact, I’ve changed my mind on Vince. I no longer will root for him to succeed with another team. I hope he fails miserably so we don’t have to listen to some “fans” say how much they miss him.

A little bitter?
I didn’t post this to spread VY love and tug on the heart strings of VY supporters out there. I was just saying that the QB coach (you know one of the people that directly worked with him day in and day out) sees something worth saying he putting his name behind. Don’t look into it any further then it is.
We have NO better options at QB and no answers at the moment. I don’t understand why you would hope he fails miserably… did he run over your dog or something? and before you start saying “he’s the reason the Titans are in the state of turmoil they are” go back and read the stories of our sinking ship over the past week.

Why not?
He is a winner. And it seems that all the problems in Nashiville aren’t Vince’s doing.

I think this explains the demotion to RB coach for Craig Johnson this past year
It seems he was in VY’s corner and Fisher didn’t like that…I think VY can succeed in Minny with Craig at QB coach. Vikings have talent on offense and a solid defense. I guess we’ll see.
I must admit I think you're grasping at straws if you think Fisher purposely moved Johnson to a new position because he thought Vince could succeed.

I don't think I'm grasping at anything
We know Fisher holds grudges and makes moves based on personal decisions…he started Scaife despite his poor play but sat him once he said the locker room was divided over VY.
All we know is that Craig Johnson supports Vince, Fisher does not, Craig was demoted to RB coach. Maybe there was some disagreement on how to handle Vince Young…who knows. But, you don’t demote your QB coach of 8 years to RB coach when you are trying to help your “franchise” QB develop. That’s just a stupid move and there has to be a reason for it. What’s your thinking on the matter?

I think there's more to it than simply saying
Fisher demoted a coach (and frankly its more a lateral move than demotion) so it wouldn’t help Young. Seriously, for all the crap Fisher takes here, he worked hard to try to make Vince a better QB. It was in his best interest to see Young succeed.

I never said Fisher demoted Johnson so it wouldn't help Young
I just said that Craig Johnson and Jeff Fisher probably had different thoughts on how to handle Young, based on what has happened and said over the past month.
I did say that I think Young can succeed in Minnesota, in part because his old QB coach is there. It seems like a good landing spot for Vince.
And, Craig Johnson didn’t see the “lateral move” to RB coach as anything other than a demotion. It’s just an odd situation and I think there was some reasons behind it…most likely reasons involving how to handle Vince.

Your arguments are futile
Winni is the official MCM VY Hater. Despite proof, facts, logic, etc. he hates and the hate is strong with this one. It doesn’t matter if you support him as just “The Best QB on the Titans roster and now we have no one”, to him this means you must be from Texas and are only a Titans fan because of VY in Winni’s eyes. Your opinions and facts don’t matter in his hate filled eyes. VY = The Devil. Jeff Fisher/Winni’s blind hatred = Our salvation.
Glad we cleared all that up

He is the official VY hater?
I hate VY with the passion of 1,000 suns. Is there no challenge here? Is he automatically the #1 hater of VY? I want my opportunity.
Official MCM Hater!

See those statements I can agree on.
Johnson and Fisher not agreeing on how to handle him, I agree with. Purposely trying to ruin Young’s career, I don’t.
And I think Minnesota would be a good spot for him.

Can we
pull a walker type trade with the Vikings? That would be awesome

It Isn't As Far Fetched As We Believe
The Vikings knew what they were getting when they hired Craig Johnson: a guy who is primarily known for being the QB coach for Vince Young and Steve McNair. The Vikings also knew of Craig Johnson’s high opinion of Vince Young when they interviewed him, and when they hired him over a number of other candidates.
It is not inconceivable that the Vikings decide to kick Vince Young’s tires for a year and see what he has. It is better than going forth with the QBs that they have, and it is also better than rolling the dice on Cam Newton, Blaine Gabbert or especially Jake Locker. Instead, they can sign Young to a cheap one year deal, and if he doesn’t work out, take a guy who will be available in a much better draft for QBs next year.
I still say that the Vikings will make a play for Donovan McNabb (in which case Young still makes sense as a backup, as McNabb won’t play for longer than 2-3 years). But it isn’t that far-fetched. Not by a long shot.
