2011 NFL Draft: East West Shrine Game 2011
This afternoon is the annual East West Shrine Bowl. This game doesn't have the prospects that the Senior Bowl does, but there are still some guys here that are worth watching. The most important thing about the Shrine Game is the practices because that is where the NFL coaches and scouts get to really look at the guys on both rosters. The Titans had some personnel there this week, and Alfie from Big Cat Country was nice enough to send over a list of the players he saw the Titans people talking too.
The players included:
- Georgia LB Akeem Dent
- Iowa State S David Sims
- UCLA DT David Carter
- LSU G Joseph Barksdale
- Fresno State OLB Chris Carter
- Wisconsin QB Scott Tolzien
- Iowa DE Karl Klug
UNC DT Marvin Austin is regarded by most people to be the best prospect in this game, and has apparently shown up in good shape after sitting out the entire 2010 college football season. Alfie didn't mention the Titans as one of the teams that showed interest in him, but you can believe that he is on their radar.
Click through the jump for the rosters for both teams.

That's a very reassuring watch list
LB, S, DT, G, OLB, QB, DE
At least there won’t be any surprise first round running backs..
My last two signatures were about Vince Young and Rusty Smith. I'm sure as hell not giving Collins room down here. So this will be my signature until the Titans show me something signature worthy.
But I digress, GO TITANS!
"Iowa S David Sims"
This should say Iowa State S David Sims.
I was looking at this asking myself, “Who the hell is this guy?”

Sash to replace Hope?

not sure. I would love a Hawkeye to be on the Titans.
Sash is a speedy guy and can make an open field tackle. Just not sure about how well his pass coverage would carry over.
MCM's first Ryan Mallett fanboy
that's already two things Hope isn't
pass coverage can be taught.

thats true. Sash could probably be taken in the 5th or 6th round I would guess.
Maybe sooner, havent really looked at where he’s projected to go.

this was by far my favorite playe by Sash while he was at Iowa.
I was at this game and the place just went crazy.

yeah I watched that one
what a game right? Sash is basically my man crush right now because my coach told me that I had the same skill set he did coming out of high school. he’s my favorite player in college football.
Get 'em.

kinda wanna see what nathan enderle can do
ive heard good things about him, even comparisons to josh freeman, maybe he can be a 2nd or 3rd round pick for us who knows
I officially don't care who's on the Titans anymore, i just want a Super Bowl.
sporting news
was at practices all week. enderle started out hot….ended up doing really poorly with accuracy at the tail end of the week. devlin didnt have the greatest week of practtices. one guy that they said had one of the best weeks was fresno state LB chris carter, who excelled in all facets of the game particularly COVERAGE. imagine that…a LB that knows how to cover a TE or RB out of backfield. he’s def one to watch. glad to see titans were talking to him. for those of you blessed to have NFLN enjoy. i hate my cable provider.

McClain, DT
from South Florida was an unblockable beast during the practices. SI said he is a “sleeper”.

I must admit a part of me thinks he's getting more hype
simply because he’s taken a Flacco-like career path.

It’s not like the guy ahead of him at Penn State was that good.

Don't get me wrong, I like him much more than Newton
If you are going to draft a QB that is going to need a ton of work, it makes more sense to me to do it in the 4th round than the 1st.

Why's the kid from Queen's on the west team? Kingston is way east
He’s also a mountain. 6’9 340, and he looks like he could easily add some bulk to his frame
God Save the Queen
Holy crap
is anyone in the NFL even close to that big?
by groovymountain on Jan 22, 2011 11:58 PM CST up reply actions
Jared Gaither
probably even bigger.

That kid from Queen's is tall
It would be good to see him get some looks, but the league he plays in might even be a step down from DIII.
size is size is size any way you cut it
technique can be taught over time.

I’m alright with Devlin, Dalton or the guy with the long name that I can’t spell- Coepernick or something.

MCM's First Best Player Available FanBoy!
by asbestos_man on Jan 22, 2011 8:42 PM CST up reply actions
Devlin's a projected 2nd rounder and Dalton's a third
My theory for taking Dalton would be that despite it being a reach, he probably won’t last till 72.

Dalton goes in the second.
He is going to be one of those guys that people fall in love with.
