No doubt Chris Johnson is arguably one of the best running backs in the league. But what makes a running back good? Speed, vision, durability, can he block, can he catch the ball out of the backfield? All these would be qualities you would want in a running back. What so many people often overlook about a great running is the Offensive line. Without those guys running backs get nowhere. So here is my point. The Titans have so many holes that need to filled this offseason. So lets fill them with studs, not some washed up free agent that we can get a deal on. If you could trade CJ for a 1st and 2nd round pick, would you? That would give you two 1st round picks (actually three if you consider Derrick Morgan plays this year) and two 2nd rounders. With this ammo you could get some guys in here to build around by drafting or via trading these picks.
I will be the first to say I would hate to see him go. He is so exciting to watch, but if you have a solid O-line and a respectable QB you can find a dozen or more running backs with the qualities I mentioned above. They may not run a 4.24 but a 4.4 is still pretty fast. Look at the Super Bowl winners from the past 7-8 years. What are factors they all had in common: A very soild QB and a good defense. I bet you can name the winning QB's from the past few years but can you name all the RB's? All I am saying is; placed in the right offense you can find a dozen or more RB's that would succeed and help your team. This could be a lesson of sacrificing one for the greater good of the whole team. Let me know what you think.
