NFL Sunday Divisional Round Playoffs Open Thread
Today we have Seahawks at Bears early and Jets at Patriots late. I hate both teams in the early game. That is all. Discuss the games below.

Go Vanderbears!
I always go first half - coffee, second half - beer, because In LA, the games start at 10:00 a.m.
Case in point:
Cutler (Vandy) just made a nice block for Bennet (Vandy).
I always go first half - coffee, second half - beer, because In LA, the games start at 10:00 a.m.
...to the other team.
got away with one there.

Gosh, nobody cares about this epic game between the Seahawks and Bears?
I’m shocked.
crickets…crickets….crickets…

Greg Olsen is a beast.
On an unrelated note, is there any way either of these teams don’t get torched by Green Bay? I’m not sure…
"Do the Titans have a miracle left in them in what has been a magical season to this point? If they do, they need it now. Christie kicks it high and short. Gonna be fielded by Lorenzo Neal at the 25; he dishes it back to Wycheck; he throws it across the field to Dyson. 30, 40, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10, 5, endzone...touchdown, Titans! There are no flags on the field! It's a miracle! Tennessee has pulled a miracle! A miracle for the Titans!"

Have you ever seen a player wrap up the ball with two arms like Olsen when he's being tackled?

gosh
i would give anything to have a qb to lean on like a cutler to consistanly get us to playoffs i know cutler this is his first but we could of had him

I can't help but wonder what would have happened if we had chosen Cutler

man
kenny britt would be a beast and jared cook.and cj takin pressure off of cutler i guarantee u we would of been in the playoffs this year.he is the perfect fit big arm thats why i think the titans want pass on mallett they like a qb with a good deep ball cause of britt

I hate the way the NFL sets up the playoffs...
There’s no reason why the Seahawks didn’t play in ATL this weekend and the Packers play the Bears. Same as the Ravens coming to Nashville in 2000. Seed the teams 1-6 based on the season…don’t reward division winners by giving them a top 4 seed. Let them in the tournament, that’s enough!
I really don't like how the Seahawks got the home game over the Saints
If that was in New Orleans, we would have been watching a much better matchup today.

Definitely.
And if the Seahawks had won today, they would host the Packers in the NFC championship game. Ridiculous. Can you imagine?

Just thinking about that has me sad
I don’t want to have to think about watching more Seattle games.

I know.
Why the hell are we subjected to watching a 7-9 team in January? Having this game before the Pats-Jets game is like having to watch the girls game first in High School. No offense to the lay-tays.
I always go first half - coffee, second half - beer, because In LA, the games start at 10:00 a.m.
Ya this officially sucks
On one hand, its a playoff game so you really want to watch. On the other, one team was not one of the six best in their conference.

I think to make the playoffs should require a winning season-
If there aren’t six teams, the playoffs are modified to accommodate.
yea
i agree worst record should always play top seed

The whole "imagine if we had drafted cutler" thing is a little bit of a stretch...
If we had drafted Cutler, who knows what would have changed. Maybe we win fewer or more games at certain times and get different draft positions and don’t end up with CJ, Britt, or any of the talent the team has now. It’s not quite as easy as just replacing one player with another and thinking “what if?”

My head agrees with you.
My gut tells me something else.
And part of my head tells me that that the A1, absolute first thing you have to get right is the QB position. Way before running back, even of the caliber of CJ. When was the last time a RB led team won the Super Bowl? It’s great to have a pro bowl running back, but this league is all about the QB. So, yeah, I would give up CJ, possibly Britt, to have Cutler. He’s starting to mature into a more consistent decision maker. Only getting better. He progressed every year at Vandy too.

He was really starting to come into his own when he got hurt.

The only reason I'd really care about where either of those two go
is because we may get compensatory picks.

wouldnt bother me
tulloch is a great tackler but horrible in pass coverage.casey matthews from oregon can take his spot maybe even could get him in the 3rd round.

we would get a pick out of tulloch he was 2nd in tackling in nfl and we would loose him due to free agency
by musicfootball24 on Jan 16, 2011 1:39 PM CST up reply actions
I think its based on what sort of contract he will get from his next team
The bigger the contract, the higher the pick. I would love an extra fourth rounder if he goes somewhere else.

Casey Matthews?
Unless he shows out at the combine, I thought he was being projected to be more like a late round pick/undrafted free agent.

indeed
he’s like all of the Matthews’ in the sense that he never stops trying to make himself better. a really good combine could land him somewhere in the early 3rd, maybe late second.

I'm in Pats country here and hate it
I used to like the steelers but since joining MCM I’ve found the steeler fans are the worst trolls
I go with Ravens fans
the freakin EDITOR of Baltimore Beatdown told a Steelers troll he hoped the entire Steelers team died in a plane crash this weekend.
the troll went on to point out that it was the Ravens who were taking a plane ride, but that’s beside the point, what a dick.
